Sırrı Süreyya Önder
Sırrı Süreyya Önder (born 7 July 1962) is a Turkish film director, actor, screenwriter, columnist and politician. Elected to parliament in 2011 Turkish general election, 2011 as an independent backed by the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), he later joined the party even though he is not from a Kurdish descent. He competed in the 2014 Turkish local elections, 2014 municipal elections as the Istanbul mayoral candidate of the Peoples' Democratic Party (Turkey), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), the sister party of the BDP, coming third with 412,875 votes (4.83%). In the June 2015 Turkish general election, general election of 7 June 2015 he was elected as MP for the 1st electoral district of Ankara Province. İstanbul (electoral Districts)
Istanbul is a Provinces of Turkey, Turkish province divided into three electoral districts of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. It elects ninety-eight members of parliament (deputies) to represent the Istanbul Province, province of the same name for a five-year term by the D'Hondt method, a party-list proportional representation system. The Istanbul (1st electoral district), first district is situated on the Anatolian side of İstanbul on the east of the Bosphorus. The Istanbul (2nd electoral district), second and Istanbul (3rd electoral district), third electoral district are both on the European side, with the third situated to the west of the second. Cirrhosis
Cirrhosis, also known as liver cirrhosis or hepatic cirrhosis, and end-stage liver disease, is the impaired liver function caused by the formation of scar tissue known as fibrosis due to damage caused by liver disease. Damage causes tissue repair and subsequent formation of scar tissue, which over time can replace normal functioning tissue, leading to the impaired liver function of cirrhosis. The disease typically develops slowly over months or years. 2013 Taksim Gezi Park Protests
A wave of demonstrations and civil unrest in Turkey began on 28 May 2013, initially to contest the Urban Development, urban development plan for Istanbul's Taksim Gezi Park. ''Özgür Gündem'' ( Turkish for "Free Agenda") was an Istanbul-based daily Turkish language newspaper, mainly read by Kurds. Launched in May 1992, the newspaper was known for its extensive reporting on the Kurdish-Turkish conflict, and was regularly accused of making propaganda for the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Its editors and staff have frequently been arrested and prosecuted, which resulted in multiple publication bans. ''BirGün'' (''One Day'') is an Istanbul-based Turkish left-wing daily. The paper was founded in 2004 by a group of Turkish intellectuals. The most important point of the newspaper is that it is not owned by any parent company or conglomerate. Since its foundation, the newspaper had to face serious pressures from publishing trusts, mainly to affiliated with Doğan Media Group that owns the vast majority of the market. Whereas most of the newspapers in Turkey pay paper and publishing cost as installments, ''BirGün'' had to pay in cash. In order to afford the costs, the newspaper first launched a subscription campaign, then raised its price to 0.75 TL. Adana Golden Boll Film Festival ( tr, Adana Altın Koza Film Festivali), known between 2016 and 2018 as International Adana Film Festival (), is a film festival in Adana, Turkey, that was held five times between 1969 and 1974 and every year since 2005. The event is organized by the Adana Metropolitan Municipality and takes place in June. Haymana Prison
Haymana is a town and district of Ankara Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, 72 km south of the capital, Ankara. The Ulucanlar Prison Museum ( tr, Ulucanlar Cezaevi Müzesi) is a former state prison in Ankara, Turkey that was converted into a prison museum following restoration by Altındağ Municipality.
