Sørarnøya
Sørarnøya or Sør-Arnøya is a small island in the municipality of Gildeskål in Nordland county, Norway. The island is located west of the neighboring island of Sandhornøya and south of the island of Nordarnøya. Sørarnøya and Nordarnøya are linked with a long bridge. The population (2016) of the island is 199. The main village on the island is the village of Sør-Arnøy. The closest town to Sørarnøya is Bodø, to the north, which can be reached by boat. Sandhornøya
Sandhornøya or Sandhornøy is a mountainous island in the municipality of Gildeskål in Nordland county, Norway. The island is located south of the town of Bodø near the entrance to the Saltfjorden. The mainland of Norway lies to the east and the islands of Fleina, Sørarnøya, and Nordarnøya lie to the west. The villages of Lekanger, Mårnes, and Våg are located on the island. The island is connected to the mainland by the Sandhornøy Bridge. Sandhornøy is also the birthplace of famous Norwegian professor and hymn writer, Elias Blix. A memorial monument of Blix can be seen by the coastline. Salt festival On August 29, 2014, the Salt festival was held on a western beach on Sandhornøya. Nordarnøya is an island in Gildeskål Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The island had 52 residents in 2017. It lies directly north of the island of Sørarnøya. Nordland
Nordland (; smj, Nordlánnda, sma, Nordlaante, sme, Nordlánda, en, Northland) is a county in Norway in the Northern Norway region, the least populous of all 11 counties, bordering Troms og Finnmark in the north, Trøndelag in the south, Norrbotten County in Sweden to the east, Västerbotten County to the south-east, and the Atlantic Ocean (Norwegian Sea) to the west. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. The purpose was to co-operate on publishing encyclopaedias and dictionaries. The first volume of Store norske leksikon (SNL) was published in 1978. A total of four editions was published (the last one in 2004), before the online version was transferred to Institusjonen Fritt Ord og Sparebankstiftelsen DnB in 2011. Kunnskapsforlaget is the largest dictionary publisher in Norway. They publish both printed books, and digital dictionaries that are available through the online service Ordnett (launched in 2004).
