Sílvia Riva González
Sílvia Riva González (born 18 March 1979) is an Andorran politician and notary. With a law degree and a degree in Andorran law, she completed part of her studies in Barcelona. On her return to Andorra, she co-founded the youth section of the Liberal Party of Andorra (PLA). She ran for municipal elections in her hometown, but failed to win a seat as councilor by fifty-two votes. She decided to study political science. She was elected to the General Council in the constituency of Andorra la Vella in the 2011 legislative elections. At the Council, she took the head of the Committee on the Interior. General Council (Andorra)
The General Council ( ca, Consell General d'Andorra, ) is the unicameral parliament of Andorra. It is sometimes referred to as the General Council of the Valleys (Catalan: ''Consell General de les Valls'') because it was the historical name and to distinguish it from similarly named bodies in the Val d'Aran and in France. The Executive Council of Andorra is the chief executive body of Andorra. Under the 1993 constitution, the co-princes continue as heads of state, but the head of government retains executive power. The two co-princes serve coequally with limited powers that do not include veto over government acts. Both are represented in Andorra by a delegate, although since 1993, both France and Spain have their own embassies.
