Sébastien Parmi Les Hommes
''Belle, Sebastian and the Horses'' was a children's television programme from 1968. It was a sequel to the 1965 series ''Belle and Sebastian'', and also starred Mehdi El Glaoui as Sebastian. It was filmed in France as ''Sébastien parmi les hommes'' as 13 colour episodes, and re-titled by the BBC. In it, Sebastian goes to spend some time on a horse ranch. The English title may be a slight misnomer as the dog Belle only appears fairly briefly, she is separated from the horses after she reacts negatively barking at them. Cécile Aubry
Cécile Aubry (3 August 1928 – 19 July 2010) was a French film actress, author, television screenwriter and director. Life and career Born Anne-José Madeleine Henriette Bénard, Aubry began her career as a dancer. At age 20, she was signed to 20th Century Fox. She made her break as the star of Henri-Georges Clouzot's ''Manon'' (1949), which won the Golden Lion of Saint Mark at the Venice Film Festival. That brought her a leading role alongside Tyrone Power and Orson Welles in American director Henry Hathaway's feature ''The Black Rose'' (1950). Aubry had also a strong performance in Christian-Jacque's ''Bluebeard'' (1952), one of the first French-produced films to be made in color. For a short time, she was a Hollywood success, signing a lucrative contract with Fox, employing her parents as a publicity team, and regularly appearing in French film magazines as an example of the perfect hybrid of Franco-American femininity. Mehdi El Glaoui
Mehdi El Mezouari El Glaoui (born 26 May 1956), also known as Mehdi El Glaoui, is a French former actor, director and screenwriter. He is the son of actress Cécile Aubry and Si Brahim El Glaoui, caïd (local administrator) of Telouet and grandson of Thami El Glaoui, pasha of Marrakech. He made his acting début at the age of 5 in the TV series ''Poly'', produced by his mother, and went on to reprise his rôle in numerous sequels covering nine seasons until he reached 14. Another series, '' Belle et Sébastien'', was dubbed into English and became school holiday viewing in the UK. Later he continued his career as an actor and also dabbled in directing. He appeared again on screen in 2005 and 2006 for the first time in nearly a decade, on the France 3 programmes ''12-14'' and ''Pour le plaisir'' respectively, revealing that he now lives in near Dax, Landes, collects classic cars and runs a musical café. ''Belle and Sebastian'' is a 1965 French TV children's serial which was adapted in the 1966 novel '' Belle et Sébastien'' by Cécile Aubry. It was 13 episodes long and starred Aubry's son Mehdi as Sebastien, whilst Aubry appeared as the episode host and co-directed episodes with Jean Guillaume.
