Szabella-kupa
The Szabella-Kupa (English: Szabella Cup) is a friendly handball event, which takes place at least once every year, in parallel to the Kulcsár Anita Memorial Tournament. Sponsored by Sándor Szabella, it was created in 2007 and was organized until 2009 in August and in December. Since 2010, the Szabella Cup is held only in August. Tournament structure The first edition took place in August 2007, since then ten tournaments were organized. There is no precise format for this friendly tournament, usually four teams (two Hungarians and two other European teams) play the Szabella Cup. In early-August 2011, exceptionally six teams participated. It will also be the case in 2012 : because of the Summer Olympics, there will be only one tournament with six teams. Kulcsár Anita-emléktorna
The Kulcsár Anita-emléktorna ( en, Anita Kulcsár Memorial Tournament) is an annual handball tournament, which takes place in Dunaújváros in August or September, and is organized in the honor of former Hungarian international handball player Anita Kulcsár, who died in a car accident in 2005. Tournament structure The first edition of the competition was held in August 2005, and since then every year usually two Hungarian teams play against two top teams from other countries. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. The sport is usually played indoors, but outdoor variants exist in the forms of field handball, Czech handball (which were more common in the past) and beach handball. Rostov-Don
Rostov-Don (russian: Ростов-Дон) is a female handball team from Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Established in 1965, the club was called Rostselmash until 2002. Rostov-Don is competing in the Russian Super League. They have won the league seven times, in 1994, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022. The club have won the Women's EHF Cup in 2016–17, and was runner-up of the 2014–15 edition after losing the finals against the Danish team TTH Holstebro. In the 2017–18 EHF Champions League, the club reached the Final 4 tournament for the first time in the club's history, where they finished fourth. Larvik Håndballklubb, is a women's handball club from Larvik, Norway. History Larvik HK was founded in 1990 as a merger of the handball departments in the two clubs Larvik Turn and Halsen. They played in the top division since 1992/93. During their first year they were close to relegation, but managed to remain on top. They saw their breakthrough the following season, as they won the league title in 1994, and played the Norwegian Cup final. Siófok Kézilabda Club is a Hungarian women's team handball team from Siófok, that currently play in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I. They have competed in lower divisions until 2006, when they have won the third-tier championship and gained promotion to the Nemzeti Bajnokság I/B. That time a businessman, János Fodor took over the club, and with the support of the local government, he guaranteed the financial background to fulfil the club's long-term plans. In May 2009, SKC received a surprise request from the Hungarian Handball Federation to replace the financially struggling Tajtavill-Nyíradony and join the top level championship.
