Syndle
Syndle (historic: ''"Søndlevatn"'') is a lake in the municipality of Grimstad in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the Landvik area, about northwest of the center of the town of Grimstad. The lake Syndle flows into a small river on the northeast part of the lake which connects it to the neighboring lake Rore which eventually flows into the river Nidelva. Rore (lake)
Rore is a lake in the municipalities of Grimstad and Arendal in Agder county, Norway. This lake, which is used as a reservoir, lies mostly in Grimstad. There is a public beach area at the southern end of the lake, near the village of Roresand. The lake is located in the Landvik area, about from the center of the town of Grimstad. The lake Syndle flows into Rore from the east and Rore is flows out into the river Nidelva at the northern end. The lake has an elevation of above sea level. Grimstad () is a municipality in Agder county, Norway. It belongs to the geographical region of Sørlandet. The administrative center of the municipality is the town of Grimstad. Some of the villages in Grimstad include Eide, Espenes, Fevik, Fjære, Håbbestad, Hesnes, Homborsund, Jortveit, Kroken, Landvik, Nygrenda, Prestegårdskogen, Reddal, Roresand, Rønnes, Skiftenes, Tjore, Vik, and Østerhus. The municipality is centered around the little maritime town of Grimstad which is surrounded by many small islands (''Skjærgård''). Agder
Agder is a county (''fylke'') and traditional region in the southern part of Norway. The county was established on 1 January 2020, when the old Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder counties were merged. Since the early 1900s, the term Sørlandet ("south country, south land, southland") has been commonly used for this region, sometimes with the inclusion of neighbouring Rogaland. Before that time, the area was considered a part of Western Norway. The area was a medieval petty kingdom, and after Norway's unification became known as ''Egdafylki'' and later ''Agdesiden'', a county within the kingdom of Norway. The name Agder was not used after 1662, when the area was split into smaller governmental units called Nedenæs, Råbyggelaget, Lister, and Mandal. Landvik
Landvik is a former municipality in the old Aust-Agder county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1971. The municipality's area is now located in the western and central part of the present-day municipality of Grimstad. The administrative centre was the village of Roresanden, just up the hill from the Landvik Church. Other villages in Landvik include Molland, Reddal, Skiftenes, Tjore, and Østerhus. Today, the name Landvik is still used to designate the westernmost part of the municipality of Grimstad, near the Prestegårdskogen housing development. Nidelva (Aust-Agder)
Nidelva is the main river in the Arendal drainage basin in Agder county, Norway. The long river begins at the confluence of two rivers: Nisserelva and Fyreselv. The confluence is located by the village of Haugsjåsund in Nissedal municipality in southern Vestfold og Telemark county. The river flows south into the Skagerrak at the city of Arendal. The watershed covers and has an average waterflow of at Rykene near the mouth. The highest waterflow ever recorded on the river was in the autumn of 1987. Watercourse The river flows through Nissedal in Vestfold og Telemark county briefly before entering Agder county. It then flows through Åmli municipality. The river Gjøv joins the Nidelva there.
