Sylvie Goy-Chavent
Sylvie Goy-Chavent, born Sylvie Chavant (born 23 May 1963 in Dunkirk) is a French politician and a member of the Senate of France. She represents the Ain department and is a member of the Radical Party. From 1995 to 2017 she was also the Mayor of Cerdon, Ain. She was reelected in the 2020 French Senate election. The Senate (french: Sénat, ) is the upper house of the French Parliament, with the lower house being the National Assembly, the two houses constituting the legislature of France. The French Senate is made up of 348 senators (''sénateurs'' and ''sénatrices'') elected by part of the country's local councillors (in indirect elections), as well as by representatives of French citizens living abroad. Senators have six-year terms, with half of the seats up for election every three years.
