Sylvia Makgone
Silvia Gonaone Makgone (born September 6, 1963, in Aminuis) is a Namibian politician and teacher who is the incumbent deputy minister of urban and rural development. Early life and education Makgone holds five tertiary education degrees in education and human resources, among them a bachelor's of arts and a bachelor of education. She worked as teacher at Mokganedi Tlhabanello Senior Secondary School in Drimiopsis in the Omaheke Region from 1987 and was promoted to principal of Mokaleng RC Combined School in 1996. She also served as principal of other schools. Career In 2010, Makgone became a member of parliament on a SWAPO ticket. Abraham Iyambo (2 February 1961 – 2 February 2013) was a Namibian politician. Iyambo was a member of the National Assembly of Namibia since 1995, serving as Ministry of Fisheries (Namibia), Minister of the Fisheries from 1997 to 2010 and as Ministry of Education (Namibia), Minister of Education from 2010 until his death. Iyambo was a member of both the central committee and political bureau of the SWAPO Party and the chairperson of its think tank. The Parliament of Namibia is the national legislature of Namibia. It is a bicameral legislature and, thus, consists of two houses: the National Council (upper house) and the National Assembly (lower house). All cabinet members are also members of the lower house. This situation has been criticised by Namibia's civil society and the opposition as creating a significant overlap between executive and legislature, undermining the separation of powers. The seniority of cabinet members generally relegate ordinary MPs to the back benches. Hage Gottfried Geingob (born 3 August 1941) is a Namibian politician, serving as the third president of Namibia since 21 March 2015. Geingob was the first Prime Minister of Namibia from 1990 to 2002, and served as prime minister again from 2012 to 2015. Between 2008 and 2012 Geingob served as Ministry of Trade and Industry (Namibia), Minister of Trade and Industry.
