"Swords" is a song by Leftfield, released as the third single from their album ''Rhythm and Stealth'', which also counts as their last single release until 2015. The song featured vocals by Nicole Willis. It was first featured on the soundtrack to the movie Go in April 1999, then included on the album ''Rhythm and Stealth'' on 20 September 1999 and released as a single on 10 July 2000 on the Hard Hands record label, published by Chrysalis Music. Leftfield are a British electronic music duo formed in 1989 as the duo of Neil Barnes and Paul Daley (the latter formerly of the Rivals and A Man Called Adam). The duo was very influential in the evolution of electronic music in the 1990s, with ''Mixmag'' describing them as "the single most influential production team working in British dance music". As with many of their contemporaries, such as the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim, Leftfield are notable for their use of guest vocalists in their works. Among those involved were Toni Halliday on "Original", Johnny Rotten on " Open Up", Djum Djum on "Afro-Left", and Earl 16 and Cheshire Cat on "Release the Pressure". Nicole Willis (born 1963) is an American singer-songwriter, producer, director, and visual artist. Willis lives and works in Helsinki, Finland. Biography Professional Willis contributed vocals in London, United Kingdom in 1985 with Washington Week in Review. Prior to that she was a member of The Hello Strangers and Blue Period with Spike Priggen, Jean Caffiene and Mark Mulcahy performances at Munson Diner and Danceteria's ''No Entiendes'', based in New York City while working at night clubs Berlin and Danceteria. Chrysalis Music is a British independent music publisher. The company's roots started in west London in 1967 when Chris Wright and Terry Ellis formed the Ellis-Wright Agency. It was formed to manage and book the bands Ten Years After, and Clouds, as well as other blues groups. Ten Years After was managed by Wright, while Clouds was managed by Ellis. In 1968, they made a deal with Island Records and very soon Chrysalis Records, an amalgam of Wright's first name and Ellis' last name, was founded. Two Lone Swordsmen were a British electronic music duo from London, consisting of Andrew Weatherall and Keith Tenniswood. History Formed by Andrew Weatherall and Keith Tenniswood in 1996, following the dissolution of Weatherall's the Sabres of Paradise, Two Lone Swordsmen released material on the record label Emissions Audio Output, run by Weatherall. However, the small nature of the operation limited the duo's success and they subsequently signed to Warp. Two Lone Swordsmen's debut studio album, ''The Fifth Mission (Return to Flightpath Estate)'', was released in 1996. 1998's ''Stay Down'' was placed at number 22 on ''Pitchfork''s "50 Best IDM Albums of All Time" list. Cari Lekebusch (born 1972) is a Swedish electronic music producer and DJ based in Stockholm. His productions range from techno to hip hop. He owns a record label, H. Productions, founded and managed by himself. The original name of the record label was Hybrid productions, but a legal twist in 1998 with the Japanese label Avex Trax's British group Hybrid forced Lekebusch to change his record label name to its present name. His studio is called HP HQ (Hybrid production Headquarters). In the early 1990s Lekebusch became a member of the Stockholm-based remix service group SweMix that at that time had notable members as Denniz Pop and StoneBridge (which is called the grandfather of Swedish house music). After a while Lekebusch started to venture out from remixing other artists to create his own music that became not even nearly as mainstream as SweMix productions and at the same time Lekebusch really started to explore techno and electronica.
