Switzerland participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Vampires Are Alive" written by René Baumann and Axel Breitung. The song was performed by DJ BoBo, which is the artistic name of singer René Baumann who was internally selected by the Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR idée suisse in December 2006 to represent the nation at the 2007 contest in Helsinki, Finland. Peter René Baumann (born 5 January 1968), better known under his stage name DJ BoBo, is a Swiss singer-songwriter, rapper, dancer, and music producer. He has sold 14 million records worldwide and has released 12 studio albums as well as several compilation albums which have included his previous hits in a reworked format. BoBo has also released 34 singles, some of which have charted high not only in German speaking countries, but also in other European territories. Jean-Marc Richard (born 18 September 1960 in Lausanne) is a Swiss radio and television personality, best known for his work with Radio télévision suisse. Since the 1993 Contest Richard has been the Swiss French commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest. Richard was unable to commentate on the 1996 and 1997 Contests, and Pierre Grandjean filled in; however he returned to commentate on the 1998 Contest. SRF zwei (''Swiss Radio and Television Two'') is a Swiss German-language free-to-air television channel run under the public SRG SSR broadcasting group. Greece participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Yassou Maria", written by Alex Papaconstantinou, Marcus Englöf and Markus Sepehrmanesh. The song was performed by Sarbel.
