Catherine Swing is a Canadian television personality, actor, producer, director and former Miss Canada. Swing won the Miss Canada pageant in 1978, after having won the Miss Toronto crown while she was a student at York University. Over the next year she made public appearances in different parts of the country. She talked with the challenges of being Miss Canada with the press, most notably the lack of control over her own schedule. Swing was not able to compete in the 1978 Miss Universe pageant as had what the papers called "marriage plans". David Swing
David Swing (August 23, 1830October 3, 1894) was a United States teacher and clergyman who was the most popular Chicago preacher of his time. Early life Swing was born to Alsatian immigrant parents in Cincinnati, Ohio. Citation: Joseph Fort Newton, ''David Swing, Poet-Preacher'' (Chicago, 1909). He spent most of his boyhood on a farm and earned his schooling. He graduated from Miami University in 1852, where was Phi Delta Theta fraternity brother of Benjamin Harrison and classmate of Whitelaw Reid. Swing studied theology at Lane Seminary; and was principal of the preparatory school at Miami in 1853-1866. Donald Earle DeGrate Jr. (born September 29, 1969), better known by his stage name DeVanté Swing, is an American record producer, singer, rapper and songwriter. He is the older brother of fellow Jodeci member Dalvin DeGrate. Career In his early career, Swing served as a mix engineer, while simultaneously producing for other acts. He mix-engineered Hi-Five’s "I Just Can't Handle It" as well as producing several remixes for the track. Swing rose to prominence in the 1990s as the founding member of the R&B group Jodeci, one of the most notable R&B acts of all time. Jordan Tyler Swing (born December 31, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Birmingham Squadron of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for Western Kentucky and UAB before playing professionally in the NBA G League, Australia, Spain, Belgium, Israel, and Ukraine. High school career Swing attended Vestavia Hills High School in Vestavia Hills, Alabama where he played for coach George Hatchett. Wes Swing (born June 2, 1982, in Virginia) is a singer-songwriter based in Charlottesville, Virginia. His first album, ''Through a Fogged Glass'' was released in early 2011. History Wes Swing was born in Fairfax, Virginia, and lived there through high school. At age 4, he began to play the violin, and was performing in orchestras in the second grade. After dabbling with rock in high school, he returned to classical music studies, especially the cello, at the College of William and Mary, while pursuing a major in Latin.
