Pat Swindall
Patrick Lynn Swindall (October 18, 1950 – July 11, 2018) was an American politician, attorney, and businessman who served as a Republican Party (United States), Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia's 4th congressional district, based in Atlanta's eastern suburbs, from 1985 to 1989. Education and career Born in Gadsden, Alabama, as a youth Swindall worked in and later managed his father Nathan's Atlanta Furniture Store on the corner of Butler (today List of former Atlanta street names, Jesse Hill Jr. Drive) and Decatur Street (Atlanta), Decatur Streets. He earned a Bachelor of Arts, B.A. from the University of Georgia in 1972 and obtained his Juris Doctor, J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1975. Charles Swindall
Charles Swindall (February 13, 1876 – June 19, 1939) was a U.S. Representative from Oklahoma. Early life Born at College Mound near Terrell, Texas, Swindall attended the public schools and Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated from Cumberland School of Law at Cumberland University, Lebanon, Tennessee, in 1897. Career Charles Swindall was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Woodward, Oklahoma. Swindall was the prosecuting attorney of Day (later Ellis) County 1898–1900. In 1900, he returned to Woodward to continue his law practice, working primarily with the Texas Cattle Raisers Association on cattle rustling cases, achieving 33 convictions. Congressional Service In the 1916 Republican National Convention, Swindall served as an Oklahoma delegate. He was a member of the Oklahoma State Republican Committee from 1919 to 1929. Steve Swindall (born 11 December 1982 in Scotland) is a Scottish former rugby union footballer who played for Glasgow Warriors. He played internationally for the Scotland 'A' side. Stephen Whitfield Swindal is an American businessman. He is the chairman of Port Tampa Bay. Swindal was a general partner of the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball from 1998 through 2007, and in 2005 had been chosen as George Steinbrenner's successor as head of the Yankees. Biography Early life and education Swindal graduated from Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC).
