The men's 50 metre freestyle event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games as part of the Swimming at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, swimming programme took place on 28 and 29 July at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow, Scotland. The medals were presented by David Downie (sports administrator), David Downie, President of Scottish Swimming and the quaichs were presented by Mike Summers, Chairman of the Falkland Islands Overseas Games Association. Tollcross International Swimming Centre
The Tollcross International Swimming Centre is a swimming pool and leisure centre in Glasgow. It hosted the Swimming events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The centre hosted the IPC Swimming World Championships during July 2015. Technical features It has one Olympic standard 50 metre swimming pool, which was extensively upgraded, and a second 50-metre pool which was added as a warm-up facility. The pool was reopened on 24 May 2013. The seating capacity of the Pool is 2,000, rising to 5,000 with temporary seating during the Commonwealth Games. Ching Hwang Lim (born 6 March 1996) is a sportsperson currently representing Singapore, who formerly represented Malaysia, in swimming. He was born in Selangor, Malaysia. He committed to Ohio State University and holds a Malaysian record in swimming which was set in July 2016. Quah Zheng Wen
Quah Zheng Wen (; born 29 September 1996) is a Singaporean professional swimmer who specialises in individual medley, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle events. Education Quah was educated at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) and had achieved 43 points out of a possible 45 for his IB Diploma. After completed his IB Diploma Programme, Quah was accepted into the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, but chose to defer his studies. He subsequently went on to enrol at the University of California, Berkeley in 2017, before graduating in 2021. Swimming career In June 2012, he set a national record in the 200 m individual medley. At the 2012 Summer Olympics he finished 33rd overall in the heats in the Men's 400 metre individual medley and failed to reach the final.
