Swimmer One
Swimmer One is a Scottish band founded in 2002 by Hamish Brown and Andrew Eaton. Laura Cameron Lewis joined the line-up in 2007. Swimmer One's music has been categorised as indie, pop music and indietronica and variously been compared to The Associates, Pulp, Pet Shop Boys and Belle & Sebastian. In September 2007 Swimmer One released their first album, ''The Regional Variations'', on their own label, Biphonic Records. Their second album, ''Dead Orchestras'', was released on 31 May 2010. They have also released four singles: "We Just Make Music For Ourselves", "Come On, Let's Go!" and "The Balance Company", all on Biphonic Records, and "Largs Hum" on London's Dogbox Records. David Mackenzie (director)
David Mackenzie (born 10 May 1966) is a Scottish film director and co-founder of the Glasgow-based production company Sigma Films. He has made ten feature films including '' Young Adam'' (2003), ''Hallam Foe'' (2007), ''Perfect Sense'' (2011) and ''Starred Up'' (2013). In 2016, Mackenzie's film '' Hell or High Water'' premiered at Cannes and was theatrically released in the United States in August. The Arches (Glasgow)
The Arches was a bar, arts venue, theatre, live music venue and nightclub in Glasgow, Scotland, which first opened in 1991. It was a not-for-profit organisation, and was situated in the City Centre under Glasgow Central station and the West Coast Main Line in the brick arches of the viaduct leading into the station, with entrances on Midland Street, and (since 2001) an entrance underneath Hielanman's Umbrella on Argyle Street.
