''Swept Away'' is the debut solo album by noted session guitarist Steve Hunter. It was released on the Atco Records label in 1977, and was produced by Bob Ezrin and Brian Christian after Jerry L. Greenberg, the President of Atlantic Records, approached Hunter about doing a solo album. Don Punchatz
Don Ivan Punchatz (September 8, 1936 – October 22, 2009) was a science fiction and fantasy artist who drew illustrations for numerous books and publications, including magazines such as '' Heavy Metal'', ''National Geographic'', ''Playboy'', and ''Time''. He illustrated album covers, and provided the cover art for session guitarist Steve Hunter's debut solo album, '' Swept Away''. Characterized as a "skilled hyperrealist with a penchant for the fantastic and absurd" and "elegantly weird," he produced cover art for books by Harlan Ellison, Isaac Asimov and others. Punchatz was born in Arlington, Texas. In 1970, he started the SketchPad Studio there, where he trained dozens of apprentices (known as "the elves") and came to be known as the "Godfather of Dallas Illustration." Raymond Louis Kennedy
Raymond Louis Kennedy (November 26, 1946 – February 16, 2014) was an American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer, based in Los Angeles. His works span multiple genres including R&B, pop, rock, jazz, fusion, acid rock, country and many others. He co-wrote "Sail On, Sailor", one of The Beach Boys' mid-career hits, as well as two hits for The Babys: "Everytime I Think of You" and " Isn't It Time". Jim Gordon (musician)
James Beck Gordon (born July 14, 1945) is an American musician, songwriter, and convicted felon. Gordon was a popular session drummer in the late 1960s and 1970s and was the drummer in the blues rock supergroup Derek and the Dominos. In 1983, in a psychotic episode associated with undiagnosed schizophrenia, Gordon murdered his mother and was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison. As of 2022, he remains incarcerated at the California Medical Facility. Music career Gordon was raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles and attended Grant High School. John Frank Rieley III (November 24, 1942 – April 17, 2015) was an American record producer, songwriter, and disc jockey who managed the Beach Boys between mid-1970 and late 1973. He is credited with guiding them back to popular acclaim and was described by ''New Statesman'' as "a radio DJ turned career mentor." Rieley co-wrote a total of ten songs included on the Beach Boys' albums '' Surfs Up'' (1971), ''Carl and the Passions – "So Tough"'' (1972), and ''Holland'' (1973). He also sang lead on the ''Surf's Up'' track " A Day in the Life of a Tree" and narrated Brian Wilson's fairy tale '' Mount Vernon and Fairway'' (1972). Tandyn Douglas Almer (July 30, 1942 – January 8, 2013) was an American songwriter, musician, and record producer who wrote the 1966 song "Along Comes Mary" for the Association. He also wrote, co-wrote, and produced numerous other songs performed by artists such as the Beach Boys, the Purple Gang, the Garden Club, and Dennis Olivieri.
