''Sweetheart of the Sun'' is the fifth studio album by American pop rock band the Bangles, released on September 27, 2011. It is the band's second album since their 2003 reunion, and their first as a trio after the departure of longtime member Michael Steele. The twelve-song album was co-produced by the Bangles and Matthew Sweet. Background ''Sweetheart of the Sun'' is only the fifth full-length studio album by the Bangles since the band's inception thirty years earlier. It came eight years after their initial reunion album, '' Doll Revolution'' (2003). That record had been followed by an extensive concert tour after which bassist Michael Steele left the group, and a lengthy period of readjustment ensued. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. The McKinleys
The McKinleys were a Scottish pop duo comprising sisters Sheila (born Shelia Gallacher, 12 December 1941, Little France, Edinburgh, Lothian, Scotland – 16 December 2012) and Jeanette McKinley (born Jeanette Gallacher, 1 September 1948, Little France, Edinburgh). The sisters recorded pop singles such as "Sweet and Tender Romance", which they sang on the TV pop show ''Ready Steady Go!''. They also performed with groups such as The Rolling Stones and The Hollies. Sheila was married to Howie Casey, saxophonist and band leader of Howie Casey and the Seniors. Charlotte Caffey
Charlotte Irene Caffey (born October 21, 1953) is an American guitarist, best known for her work in the rock band the Go-Go's in the 1980s, including writing "We Got the Beat". Career Caffey began her musical career playing bass guitar in the early Los Angeles punk band The Eyes before joining the Go-Go's in 1978 and switching to guitar. She remained friends with fellow band member Belinda Carlisle after the initial breakup of the Go-Go's and wrote songs for Carlisle's solo albums. From 1988 until 1992, she led her own band, The Graces, with Meredith Brooks and Gia Ciambotti, who released the album ''Perfect View'' in 1989. The Go-Go's are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1978. Deborah Mary Peterson (born August 22, 1961) is an American musician and the drummer of the band The Bangles. She sang lead vocals on two of the band's released singles, "Going Down to Liverpool" (1984) and " Be with You" (1989). She is the younger sister of fellow Bangles member Vicki Peterson. Victoria Anne Theresa Peterson Cowsill (born January 11, 1958) is an American rock musician and songwriter. She has been the lead guitarist for the Bangles since their foundation in 1981. After their first disbandment in 1989, she has returned to the band for all subsequent reunions. Laurel Canyon is a mountainous neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills region of the Santa Monica Mountains, within the Hollywood Hills West district of Los Angeles, California.
