Sweet Velvet
Sweet Velvet was a Japanese pop band under Giza Studio label, formed in 1998 and disbanded in 2001. Biography In 1998, the band formation began. As inspiration for music production they used French pop from the '60s. The band title Sweet Velvet came from the idea of their vocalist Mizuki having velvety voice. In 1999, along with bands New Cinema Tokage and Grass Arcade they debuted on 10 February as "Number One Artists" () on newly created Giza Studio label by distributors Being Inc. Their debut major single, ''I Just Feel So Love Again ~Soba ni Iru Dake de~'' was released in double formats: 8 cm and 12 cm maxi single. The song was used as ending theme for the anime television series '' Mamotte Shugogetten''. Later, the original composer of the song, Aika Ohno, self-covered it in her English cover album ''Shadows of Dreams''. I Just Feel So "Sweet"
''I Just Feel So "Sweet"'' is the first and only studio album by Japanese pop band Sweet Velvet. It was released on February 26, 2000, through Giza Studio. Background The album consists of three previous released singles, such as , "Flame Of Love" and "Lazy Drive". Three tracks out of ten: "So good", "Sweeter Baby" and "Fairplay" were reprised from indies album "Sweet Velvet". Fairplay has subtitle -album mix- and it shares significant melody change. Most of the tracks were previously released as b-side of their singles, with exception of Un jour, Blue and Drive and Over which were recorded newly for this album. Two tracks out of ten were composed by band themselves while seven tracks out of ten were composed by Japanese composer Aika Ohno. After the album release, the band has disbanded without official announcement and later their website was removed by director of Giza Studio as well. (also known as CDTV) is a Japanese late-night music television program, broadcast on TBS since 1993. The program is shown weekly, and features a Japanese music video hit chart countdown, live performances from musicians and music information. It is presented by three CGI-animated hosts. History The show was created after a gap the broadcast of the long-run TBS countdown show The Best Ten (1978–1989). A top 100 music countdown show called (presented by Kuniko Tamada and Masayuki Watanabe) begun airing on TBS networks from October 1992, however received low ratings in its targeted youth market (due to its early airing time, 8pm, and the at average 10pm returning home time of the target audience). Mamotte Shugogetten
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Minene Sakurano which was serialized in the monthly magazine '' Shōnen GanGan'' from 1996 to 2000. A continuation was published in ''Comic Blade'' titled from 2002 to 2005. The manga was adapted into a 22-episode anime television series produced by Toei Animation which aired from 1998 throughout 1999. An eight-episode OVA series, ''Denshin Mamotte Shugogetten'' was released in 2000. The story involves Tasuke Shichiri, a 14-year-old boy that receives a gift from his father, Tarousuke, who is traveling in China. The gift is a ring, the shitenrin, and those pure of heart may gaze into it and receive a moon goddess named Shaolin. Giza Studio
is a Japanese record label. The Giza Studio started as an indie label in the late 1990s under the name Garage Indies Zapping Association, but soon Being Inc. bought it as their sister label company. Giza Studio is located in Osaka, Japan and has been producing successful artists such as Mai Kuraki, Garnet Crow, Rina Aiuchi, etc. since their commercial service on September 1, 1998. Along with other Being Group's sister labels (Zain Records, Rooms Records, B-Gram Records, BMFC, Vermillion Records and Northern Music), the studio's main task is to create music productivity by hiring talented artists, composers and engineers.
