''Sweet Inspiration'' is the first of two studio albums by the London gospel choir, The Inspirational Choir. It was released in 1985 and reached number 59 on the UK Album Chart and spent four weeks in the charts. Two singles were released from the album, "Abide with Me", which reached number 36 on the UK Singles Chart, and "I've Got a Feeling". The Inspirational Choir Of The Pentecostal First Born Church Of The Living God
The Inspirational Choir of the Pentecostal First Born Church of the Living God, later the name was shortened to The Inspirational Choir, were a gospel choir based in London, England. The choir was founded by John Francis, who also co-founded the London Community Gospel Choir. Their recording career began as backing vocalists for Madness on their single " Wings Of A Dove", which reached No. 2 in the UK Singles Chart. They later produced their own single, which reached No. 36 in the UK Singles Chart and a studio album, which reached No. 59 in the UK Album Chart. History The choir was founded in the early 1980s by John Francis, who also the co-founded of the London Community Gospel Choir. You Light Up My Life (song)
"You Light Up My Life" is a ballad written by Joseph Brooks, and originally recorded by Kasey Cisyk for the soundtrack album to the 1977 film of the same title. The song was lip synced in the film by its lead actress, Didi Conn. The best-known cover version of the song is a cover by Debby Boone, the daughter of singer Pat Boone. It held the No. 1 position on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart for ten consecutive weeks in 1977 and topped ''Record World'' magazine's Top 100 Singles Chart for a record 13 weeks. Original film version Cisyk's original soundtrack recording was included in the film's soundtrack album. Then later it was released as a single to bolster sales of the soundtrack album after Debby Boone included her version on her first solo album (also titled '' You Light Up My Life''). Peter Mew
Peter Mew is a retired British music audio engineer. He worked at Abbey Road Studios, where he was the senior mastering engineer. He came to Abbey Road in 1965 as a tape operator and has since worked with many artists at the studio. Kevin Ayers of Soft Machine has called Mew "the best engineer I've ever worked with". Biography Mew has had a prolific career at the Abbey Road Studios, home base of groups like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and recording engineers such as Alan Parsons. He was involved on the historic Syd Barrett solo recordings, and remastered his compilation albums. He started his career at Abbey Road as a tea boy, then tape-op, and finally as a recording engineer, on Pretty Things' ''S.F. Sorrow'', in 1967. John Timperley (sound Engineer)
John Timperley (11 January 1940 – 20 September 2006), was a British audio engineer, who worked on recordings of a number of important musicians and groups from the 1960s to the 1990s. Timperley was influential in the music recording industry in the United Kingdom and other countries. He gained his training at the IBC studies in London in the late 1950s, working with his long time friend, Keith Grant, primarily on classical recordings and the early pop music. He then worked at Ryemuse Studios (later known as Mayfair Studios) where he recorded Cream's first LP and numerous hits in the 1960s. He then briefly worked at Olympic Studios, before being asked to set up the new Chappell recording studios at Bond Street where he subsequently became manager and chief engineer. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Since the mid-1950s, the bass guitar has largely replaced the double bass in popular music. Royal Choral Society
The Royal Choral Society (RCS) is an amateur choir, based in London. History Formed soon after the opening of the Royal Albert Hall in 1871, the choir gave its first performance as the Royal Albert Hall Choral Society on 8 May 1872 – the choir's first conductor Charles Gounod included the ''Hallelujah Chorus'' from ''Messiah'' in the inaugural concert.
