Swedish Shooting Sport Federation
The Swedish Shooting Sport Federation ( sv, Svenska Skyttesportförbundet, SvSF) is a Swedish sport shooting association founded in 2009 by merging the three former organisations Swedish Sport Shooting Association (''Svenska Sportskytteförbundet'', SSF), Frivilliga Skytterörelsen (FSR) and Skytterörelsens Ungdomsorganisation (Skytte UO). In addition to being their well-known Nordic shooting disciplines, they are also affiliated internationally with the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), Fédération Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse (FITASC) and the International Precision Rifle Federation (IPRF). Frivilliga Skytterörelsen
Frivilliga Skytterörelsen (FSR) (lit. ''Voluntary Shooting Movement''), formerly known as ''Frivilliga Skytteväsendet,'' was a Swedish shooting sport association and a voluntary defense organization. They considered themselves as in 1860 by the start of the Swedish shooting movement, and together with its youth organization ''Ungdomsorganisation Skytte'' (UO) ceased to exist in 2009. The organization long had close ties to the Swedish Armed Forces and was operated with the help of government subsidies, but these gradually weakened during the years as more and more shooters wanted to separate civilian and military shooting. The Swedish shooting movement originated in the 1860s, and in 1893 the Swedish rifle clubs formally organized themselves in ''Skytteförbundets överstyrelse'' (lit. International Shooting Sport Federation
The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) is the governing body of the Olympic shooting events in rifle, pistol and shotgun (clay target) disciplines, and of several non-Olympic shooting sport events. ISSF's activities include regulation of the sport, Olympic qualifications and organization of international competitions such as the ISSF World Cup Series, the ISSF World Cup Finals, the ISSF Separate World Championship in Shotgun events and the ISSF World Championship in all events. Fédération Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse (FITASC, "International Shooting Federation of Hunting Sport Weapons") is an international sport federation for sport shooting, specifically clay pigeon shooting similar to sporting clays, trap and skeet. Rules It involves strategically placed clay target throwers (called traps) set to simulate live game birds/animals- teal, rabbits, pheasant etc. Shooters on each layout or "parcour", shoot in turn at various combinations of single and double clay birds. Each station or "peg" on a parcour will have a menu card that lets the shooter know the sequence of clay birds he or she will be shooting at (i.e. which trap the clay bird will be coming from). International Precision Rifle Federation
The International Precision Rifle Federation (IPRF) is an international federation for field and long range shooting. The shooting takes place from various positions and at varied distances within a limited par time, so that the competitors need to have a good understanding about their ballistics so that they can compensate for wind and distance. Competitors are divided into different divisions based on their firearms and equipment. All competitors compete inside their division, and there can also be awards for the categories women, junior (competitors of 18 years or younger), senior (competitors of 55 years or older) and military/police. A match usually consists of several stages, and points are awarded by the number of hits.
