Swedish Senior Curling Championships
The Swedish Senior Curling Championships ( sv, Svenska mästerskap i curling för oldboys/oldgirls, SM Oldlag, SM Oldgirls/Oldboys, Senior SM, SM Seniorer, SSM) is an annual curling tournament held to determine the best senior-level men's and women's curling teams in Sweden. Senior level curlers must be over the age of 50 as of June 30 in the year prior to the tournament. It has been held annually since the 1962-1963 season for senior men ("oldboys") and the 1971-1972 season for senior women ("oldgirls"); (Champions senior men; from 1962—1963 to 2013—2014) (Champions senior women; from 1962—1963 to 2013—2014) the championship events are organized by the Swedish Curling Association ( sv, Svenska Curlingförbundet). Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a ''game''; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each ''end'', which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones once. A game usually consists of eight or ten ends. The player can induce a curved path, described as ''curl'', by causing the stone to slowly rotate as it slides. Sollefteå
Sollefteå () is a locality and the seat of Sollefteå Municipality in Västernorrland County, Sweden with 8,562 inhabitants in 2010. The earliest written account on Sollefteå is found in a script dating back to 1270. During this time the name of the village was given as De Solatum - a name that can be interpreted as a composition of ''Sol'' (sun) and ''at'' (property) i.e. literally The sunlit region. Djursholm () is one of four suburban districts in, and the seat of Danderyd Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. Djursholm is included in the multi-municipal Stockholm urban area. Timrå
Timrå () is a locality and the seat of Timrå Municipality in Västernorrland County, Sweden with 10,443 inhabitants in 2010. It is located about 13 km north of Sundsvall (a town with a metropolitan area of some 100,000 inhabitants), and could arguably be considered a satellite to that town. The two closest cities (Sundsvall and Härnösand) share one airport, Midlanda, that is geographically located in Timrå.
