Swedish Match AB is a Swedish multinational tobacco company headquartered in Stockholm. The company manufactures snus, nicotine pouches, moist snuff, tobacco- and nicotine-free pouch products, chewing tobacco, chew bags, tobacco bits, cigars, matches, and lighters, with operations in Sweden, Denmark, the United States, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, the Netherlands, and the Philippines. Kungälv () (old no, Konghelle) is a city and the seat of Kungälv Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 22,768 inhabitants in 2010. In 2021, the main Kungälv - Ytterby - Kareby conurbation had a combined population approaching 30,000. In total, the whole municipality had 47,050 inhabitants. Ivar Kreuger (; 2 March 1880 – 12 March 1932) was a Swedish civil engineer, financier, entrepreneur and industrialist. In 1908, he co-founded the construction company Kreuger & Toll Byggnads AB, which specialized in new building techniques. By aggressive investments and innovative financial instruments, he built a global match and financial empire. The company was created by the Swedish Parliament to centralize and consolidate state ownership of public commercial assets especially within heavy industries such as shipyard, steel and forestry. The Matchstick Palace ( sv, Tändstickspalatset) is an office building on Västra Trädgårdsgatan in Stockholm, Sweden. History It was commissioned by the "Match King" Ivar Kreuger (1880–1932) as the headquarters of the Swedish match company ''Svenska Tändsticks AB''. It was designed by architect Ivar Tengbom (1878-1968) and built by Kreuger & Toll Construction AB 1926-28. The palace remained Swedish Match's office until 1991 and was sold to Telia in 1999, who subsequently sold it to businessman Muhammed Al-Amoundi for SEK 450 million.
