Swedish Junior Strokeplay Championship
The Swedish Junior Strokeplay Championship is a national golf tournament in Sweden for golfers under the age of 22, contested for both men and women. Known also as the JSM Slag, it has been organized by the Swedish Golf Federation since 1977 when JSM Match, the Swedish Junior Matchplay Championship contested since 1939, switched from match play to stroke play format. Since 2001, both JSM tournaments have been held in parallel. The number of winners who have gone on to become successful pros is considerable. Anders Forsbrand, Jesper Parnevik and Jonas Blixt have won on the PGA Tour or the World Cup. Swedish Golf Federation
The Swedish Golf Federation ( sv, Svenska Golfförbundet, SGF) is the governing body for the sport of golf in Sweden, founded in 1904. The federation is responsible for administering the Rules of Golf, as laid down by The R&A, at the national level. It organizes tournaments, manages the national teams, and promotes the game. As of 2022, the federation organized 448 golf clubs and 505,577 individual members with 536 203 memberships, 74.4% male and 25.6% female. This makes it the third largest sports federation in Sweden in terms of active members, behind association football and athletics in first and second and place. SGF is a member of the European Golf Association (EGA). Thanks to a high national participation rate of almost 5%, SGF is EGA's third largest national member behind England and Germany (661,805 and 640,181 members respectively as of 2016). Nora Sundberg
Nora Sundberg (born 30 September 2005) is a Swedish amateur golfer. She has played on the winning European teams in the Junior Ryder Cup, Junior Solheim Cup and Junior Vagliano Trophy. In 2023 she won the Spanish International Ladies Amateur Championship. Career Sundberg grew up in Stockholm and represents Stockholm Golf Club. She played in the European Young Masters in 2019 and 2020, and joined the National Team in 2021. At the European Girls' Team Championship in 2021, her team finished third. In 2022, they finished second, as the final with France ended 4–3, after beating England 6–1 in the semi-final. In 2021, Sundberg played on the winning Junior Solheim Cup in Toledo, Ohio, captained by Annika Sörenstam, where she won, 3 and 1, over Bailey Shoemaker in her final day match. Jesper Svensson (golfer)
Bo Jesper Svensson (born 14 March 1996) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. In 2023, he won the B-NL Challenge Trophy on the Challenge Tour and was runner-up at the Investec South African Open Championship. Early life and amateur career Svensson was born in Uppsala, Sweden. As a junior golfer, he won both the Swedish Junior Matchplay Championship at Vasatorp Golf Club, and the Swedish Junior Strokeplay Championship at Sollentuna Golf Club. He represented Sweden at the European Amateur Team Championship in 2017 and 2018, and played in the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club in Scotland, where he finished 13th overall. Frida Mikaela Kinhult (born 25 September 1999) is a Swedish professional golfer. She rose to world number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in June 2019 and won the 2020 Symetra Tour Championship to graduate to the LPGA Tour. David Andreas Nyfjäll (born 26 January 1999) is a Swedish professional golfer. As an amateur, he was part of the teams winning the 2017 Jacques Léglise Trophy, the 2019 European Amateur Team Championship and the 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup. Amateur career Nyfjäll won his first international title at the 2013 Finnish Junior International Championship and was a semifinalist at the 2016 Boys Amateur Championship at Muirfield in Scotland. In 2017, he was third at the German Boys Open, and in 2018 third at the Lytham Trophy. Vallda Golf & Country Club
Vallda Golf & Country Club is a golf club located in Kungsbacka 30 km south of Gothenburg in Sweden. It hosted the Scandinavian Mixed in 2021, a joint event on the European Tour and Ladies European Tour. History Plans to create a classic Scottish heathland golf course near Gothenburg were conceived in the mid-1990s and 86 hectares of meadowland surrounded by oak forest was acquired in the Vallda Valley, outside Kungsbacka. Golf course architect Martin Hawtree was commissioned to design the course drawing on inspiration from the legendary British golf courses of the 1920s, and the 18-hole course in open links-style layout was completed in July 2009.
