Swanlights
''Swanlights'' is the fourth studio album by Antony and the Johnsons, released on October 12, 2010 worldwide through Secretly Canadian, and October 11, 2010 in the United Kingdom through Rough Trade. To accompany the album release, the band has produced a 144-page art book also titled ''Swanlights'', which includes paintings, collages, photography and writing by Anohni. The album was preceded by lead single/EP ''Thank You for Your Love'', released on August 30, 2010 in the UK and 1 September in the US. Artwork and book The Swanlights project consists of music and artwork that Anohni has been focusing on for the last three years. Many of the songs that appear on the album had been recorded during tracking for ''The Crying Light'' while two of the tracks stem from live recordings in Copenhagen and London in 2008 and 2009. Antony And The Johnsons
Antony and the Johnsons is an American music group presenting the work of Anohni and her collaborators. Career British experimental musician David Tibet of Current 93 heard a demo and offered to release Anohni's music through his Durtro label. Anohni started the band, its name inspired by trans activist Marsha P. Johnson. The debut album, ''Antony and the Johnsons'', was released in 1998. In 2001, while still known as Antony Hegarty, Anohni/Hegarty released a short follow-up EP, ''I Fell in Love with a Dead Boy'', which, in addition to the title track, included a cover of "Mysteries of Love", a David Lynch/Angelo Badalamenti song and "Soft Black Stars", a Current 93 cover. Producer Hal Willner heard the EP and played it to Lou Reed, who immediately recruited Hegarty for his project ''The Raven''. ''Cut the World'' is a live album by Antony and the Johnsons, recorded in Copenhagen and released in August 2012. In 2012 it was awarded a double silver certification from the Independent Music Companies Association, which indicated sales of at least 40,000 copies throughout Europe. Reception ''Cut the World'' received wide acclaim from contemporary music critics. ''Thank You for Your Love'' is an EP by Antony and the Johnsons released on August 30, 2010 via Rough Trade Records (UK) and Secretly Canadian (US). It also serves as the lead single of the band's 2010 album ''Swanlights''. Background In an interview with ''Billboard'' Hegarty calls her cover-version of "Imagine" by John Lennon an "audacious choice, since it's sort of hallowed ground" and states that she recorded the Bob Dylan cover version at the same time as she recorded "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" for the ''I'm Not There'' soundtrack. Nico Asher Muhly (; born August 26, 1981) is an American contemporary classical music composer and arranger who has worked and recorded with both classical and pop musicians. A prolific composer, he has composed for many notable symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles and has had two operas commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera. iTunes LP (referred to in pre-launch press by the code name Cocktail) is a format for interactive album artwork introduced by Apple Inc. on September 9, 2009. It is similar to the CMX format being developed by the three major record labels, and operates within the iTunes 9 to iTunes 12 software, allowing the user to view multimedia elements alongside the music. The Crying Light
''The Crying Light'' is Antony and the Johnsons' third studio album and the follow-up to the band's widely acclaimed second LP, ''I Am a Bird Now''. The album was released on 19 January 2009, and preceded by lead single, " Another World", released through Secretly Canadian on 7 October 2008. ''The Crying Light'' features orchestral arrangements by Anohni and Nico Muhly. The album was released digitally in advance of the release. Some pre-orders contained an alternate version of "Another World". Pre-orders of the physical album from Antony's official website facilitated a full album download, including bonus track "My Lord My Love", a week prior to the official release. Saved (Bob Dylan Album)
''Saved'' is the 20th studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on June 23, 1980, by Columbia Records. ''Saved'' was the second album of Dylan's "Christian trilogy". It expanded on themes explored on its predecessor '' Slow Train Coming'', with gospel arrangements and lyrics extolling the importance of a strong personal faith. Artwork The cover of ''Saved'' originally featured a painting by Tony Wright of Jesus Christ's hand reaching down to touch the hands of his believers. However, this cover was subsequently replaced by a painting of Dylan on stage performing during that time period in order to downplay the overtly religious nature of the original cover. Bob Dylan (legally Robert Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter.
