Swan Stakes
The Swan Stakes (Japanese スワンステークス) is a Grade 2 horse race for Thoroughbreds aged three and over run in October over a distance of 1,400 metres at Kyoto Racecourse. It was first run in 1958 and was promoted to Grade 2 in 1984 when its distance was reduced from 1600 metres. Kyoto Racecourse
is located in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It is used for horse racing. It has a capacity of 120,000. It was built in 1999. History Kyoto Race Course opened on December 1, 1925. In preparation for the track's 100th anniversary, Kyoto Race Course will be closed from November 2020 until the Spring of 2023 for grandstand renovations. Races normally run at Kyoto will be moved to either Hanshin Racecourse or Chukyo Racecourse during this time. Physical attributes Kyoto Race Course has two turf courses, a dirt course, and a jump course. The turf's measures 1894m and the measures 1783m . A chute permits races to be run on either oval at distances between 1400m and 1800m. Races can be run on the "A Course" rail setting (on the hedge), the "B Course" setting (rail out 4 meters), the "C Course" setting (rail out 7 metres) or the "D Course" setting (rail out 10 meters). Mikki Isle
Mikki Isle ( ja, ミッキーアイル, foaled 12 March 2011) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. After winning two of his three starts as a juvenile he emerged as a top-class performer in 2014 when his wins included the Nikkan Sports Sho Shinzan Kinen, Arlington Cup, NHK Mile Cup and Swan Stakes. He failed to win as four-year-old but ran well in defeat in major races such as the Takamatsunomiya Kinen and the Sprinters Stakes. He reached his peak in 2016 when he won the Hankyu Hai and ran second in both the Takamatsunomiya Kinen and the Sprinters Stakes before recording his biggest win in the Mile Championship. At the end of the year he took the JRA Award for Best Sprinter or Miler. He was a front-running racehorse and was often vulnerable to fast-finishing opponents. Taiki Shuttle
Taiki Shuttle (, foaled March 23, 1994; died August 17, 2022) was an American-bred, Japanese-trained thoroughbred race horse and stallion. He won races at the highest level both home and abroad, most notably winning the Mile Championship (twice), Yasuda Kinen, and Sprinters Stakes in Japan and the Prix Jacques Le Marois in France. Taiki Shuttle was honored as the Japanese Racing Association's (JRA) Champion Sprinter in both 1997 and 1998, and was named the Japan Horse of the Year in 1998, along with Champion Older Male Horse. In 1999, he was inducted into the JRA Hall of Fame. Taiki Shuttle died on August 17, 2022. He suffered a heart attack while he was sleeping due to his advanced age. Danon Fantasy ( ja, ダノンファンタジー, link=no, foaled 30 January 2016) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. After finishing second in her first appearance as a two-year-old in 2018 she won her three remaining races including the Fantasy Stakes (Japan), Fantasy Stakes and Hanshin Juvenile Fillies and took the JRA Award for Best Two-Year-Old Filly. (born March 12, 1974; from Himeji, Hyōgo Prefecture) is a Japanese jockey who rode the winner of the 2006 Melbourne Cup, Delta Blues. It was Iwata's first race outside Japan. Andrasch Starke (born 4 January 1974, in Germany) is a jockey in international Thoroughbred horse racing. Starke began racing at age fifteen as an amateur and since turning professional has won the German riding championship six times. The Thoroughbred is a horse breed best known for its use in horse racing. Yuichi Fukunaga
is a Japanese jockey who has won 29 Grade 1 races in Japan and abroad. He is affiliated with the Japan Racing Association (JRA) in Rittō. His father is former jockey Yoichi Fukunaga who was said to be a "genius" during his active career, and his uncle is Takashi Kitamura, also a former jockey. His wife is former Fuji TV announcer Midori Matsuo. Since July 2016, he has a management contract with Horipro, the entertainment production in which his wife is also affiliated.
