Svitávka
The Svitávka (german: Zwittebach) is a river in Liberec Region (Czech Republic) and Saxony (Germany). It is a right tributary of the Ploučnice, which it joins near Zákupy. Its source is in the Zittau Mountains, near Jonsdorf. After about it crosses the Czech border and flows further south, through Mařenice, Kunratice u Cvikova, Velenice and Zákupy. Zákupy
Zákupy (; german: Reichstadt) is a town in Česká Lípa District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,900 inhabitants. The town centre with the castle is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Administrative parts Villages of Božíkov, Brenná, Kamenice, Lasvice, Šidlov and Veselí are administrative parts of Zákupy. Geography Zákupy is located about east of Česká Lípa and southwest of Liberec. It lies in the Ralsko Uplands. The highest point is the hill Kamenický kopec at above sea level. The southern part of the municipal territory extends into the Kokořínsko – Máchův kraj Protected Landscape Area. The Svitávka River flows through the town. Kunratice U Cvikova
Kunratice u Cvikova (german: Kunnersdorf) is a municipality and village in Česká Lípa District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 600 inhabitants. History Kunratice u Cvikova was probably founded around 1278. In 1388, the village was acquired by the Berka of Dubá family and incorporated it under the Milštejn estate. Sights The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was built in the Empire style in 1833. In 2021, a valuable Holy Sepulchre (symbolic depiction of Christ's tomb) decorated with glass was discovered in the church. Jonsdorf
The community of Jonsdorf is located in the south of the Kreis Görlitz in the southeast of the German federal state of Saxony. It is embedded into a valley of the Zittau Mountains, part of the Lusatian Mountains. History In 1539 Jonsdorf was first mentioned in a document which showed the selling of land to ten new settlers by the monastery of Oybin. In 1547 the whole land of Oybin had been sold to the city of Zittau by Maximilian the Second. In 1580 Hieronymus Richter established the first sandstone quarry inside the rock formations surrounding Jonsdorf to produce millstones. Some decades later, in 1667, the city-council of Zittau decided to found some additional quarries in the district between Jonsdorf and Waltersdorf. The production of millstone ended in 1917. Zittau Mountains
The Zittau Mountains (german: Zittauer Gebirge, cs, Žitavské hory), formerly also called the Lusatian Ridge (''Lausitzer Kamm''), refer to the German part of the Lusatian Mountains that straddle the Saxon- Bohemian border in the extreme southeast of the German state of Saxony. Geography Location The Zittau Mountains lie in the extreme south of the district of Görlitz in Saxony.
