Svetlana Lunkina
Svetlana Aleksandrovna Lunkina (russian: Светла́на Алекса́ндровна Лу́нькина; born 29 July 1979) is a Russian-Canadian ballerina who is a principal dancer with the National Ballet of Canada. Biography Lunkina was born in Moscow and attended the Moscow Choreographic Academy. Upon her graduation in 1997, she joined the Bolshoi Ballet. During her first season at the Bolshoi Theatre, she was chosen to perform the title role in ''Giselle'' and thus, at the age of 18, became the youngest Giselle in the history of the Bolshoi. Over her 15-year career with the company, Lunkina danced many leading roles in both classical and contemporary ballets. In 2001, she was a Triumph Youth Award recipient, and the following year, Alexander Grant set the role of Lise in Frederick Ashton's ''La Fille mal gardée'' on her. Swan Lake
''Swan Lake'' ( rus, Лебеди́ное о́зеро, r=Lebedínoye ózero, p=lʲɪbʲɪˈdʲinəjə ˈozʲɪrə, link=no ), Op. 20, is a ballet composed by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875–76. Despite its initial failure, it is now one of the most popular ballets of all time. The scenario, initially in two acts, was fashioned from Russian and German folk tales and tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's curse. The choreographer of the original production was Julius Reisinger (Václav Reisinger). The ballet was premiered by the Bolshoi Ballet on at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Roland Petit
Roland Petit (13 January 192410 July 2011) was a French ballet company director, choreographer and dancer. He trained at the Paris Opera Ballet school, and became well known for his creative ballets. Life and work The son of shoe designer Rose Repetto, Petit was born in Villemomble, near Paris. He trained at the Paris Opéra Ballet school under Gustave Ricaux and Serge Lifar and began to dance with the corps de ballet in 1940. He founded the Ballets des Champs-Élysées in 1945 and the Ballets de Paris in 1948, at Théâtre Marigny, with Zizi Jeanmaire as star dancer. Petit collaborated with Constant Lambert (''Ballabile'' - 1950), Henri Dutilleux (''Le Loup'' - 1953), Serge Gainsbourg, Yves Saint-Laurent and César Baldaccini and participated in several French and American films. The Vienna State Opera (, ) is an opera house and opera company based in Vienna, Austria. The 1,709-seat Renaissance Revival venue was the first major building on the Vienna Ring Road.
