Sveriges Unga Muslimer
Sveriges Unga Muslimer (SUM), previously named ''Sveriges Muslimska Ungdomsförbund (SMUF)'', is an Islamic youth umbrella organisation in Sweden. The organisation was formed in 1991. SUM itself a member organisation of the following umbrella organisations: the Muslim Council of Sweden, Forum for European Muslim Youth and Student Organisations (FEMYSO) and ''Ibn Rushd studieförbund''. In 2016 it had about 4000 members. SUM, along with other Muslim community organisations has its headquarters at Stockholm mosque. SUM is a supporting organisation to Ship to Gaza Sweden. The organisation has an annual conference in the Kista district of Stockholm, with about 800-1500 participants aged 15–25. Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's Mosque ( sv, Zaid Ben Sultan Al Nahayans moské, ar, جامع زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان), commonly known as the Stockholm Mosque (''Stockholms moské'') or the Stockholm Grand Mosque (''Stockholms stora moské''), is the largest mosque in Stockholm, Sweden. Abdullah Hakim Quick
Shaykh Abdullah Hakim Quick (born June 20, 1949) is an American-Canadian Imam and travelling lecturer. Background He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts of African American, Caribbean and Mohawk descent. He grew up in Boston. He received a Bachelor's Degree from the Islamic University of Madinah in 1979. He was one of the first two students from the west and the first American to have done so and receive an Ijazah. He received a Master's Degree and PhD from the University of Toronto. His thesis was an analysis of the life and writings of Sheikh ‘Uthman Dan Fodio, a great West African Scholar, warrior, and social activist. Islam in Sweden refers to the practice of Islam in Sweden, as well as historical ties between Sweden and the Islamic world. Viking contact with Islam dates back to the 7th–10th centuries, when the Vikings traded with Muslims during the Islamic Golden Age. Since the late 1960s and more recently, immigration from predominantly Muslim countries has impacted the demographics of religion in Sweden, and has been the main driver of the spread of Islam in the country. Mehmet Güner Kaplan (born 18 July 1971) is a Swedish politician of Turkish origin who served as Minister for Housing and Urban Development from 2014 to 2016.
