Lyngdal (town)
Alleen or Lyngdal is a town which is the administrative centre of the municipality of Lyngdal in Agder county, Norway. It lies along the east side of the river Lygna, just north of the head of the Rosfjorden and northeast of the head of the Lyngdalsfjorden. The small villages of Skomrak and Svenevik both lie just south of the town, and the small farming area of Hæåk lies about to the northwest. On 1 January 2001, the municipal government declared the urban area of Alleen to be a town called ''Lyngdal''. Both names are used to refer to the urban area. In Norway, Alleen is considered a which can be translated as either a "town" or "city" in English. Lyngdal Church lies in the northern part of the town. Skomrak is a village in Lyngdal municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located near the northern end of the Rosfjorden, about south of the town of Lyngdal. The village of Svenevik lies about straight west across the fjord. The Skomrak area is divided into three parts called ''Skomrak Indre'' (in the north), ''Skomrak'' (in the central part), and Skomrak Ytre (in the south). Southern Norway
Southern Norway ( no, Sørlandet; lit. "The Southland") is the geographical region (''landsdel'') along the Skagerrak coast of southern Norway. The region is an informal description since it does not have any governmental function. It roughly corresponds to the old petty kingdom of Agder as well as the two former counties of Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder. From New Year 2020, the two counties have been merged into one county, Agder. Agder
Agder is a county (''fylke'') and traditional region in the southern part of Norway. The county was established on 1 January 2020, when the old Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder counties were merged. Since the early 1900s, the term Sørlandet ("south country, south land, southland") has been commonly used for this region, sometimes with the inclusion of neighbouring Rogaland. Before that time, the area was considered a part of Western Norway.
