Sven Helge Lien (born 4 August 1958) is a Norwegian former ice hockey player. He was born in Drøbak and played for the club Furuset IF. Drøbak
Drøbak is a List of cities in Norway, town and the centre of the municipality of Frogn, in Viken county, Norway. The city is located along the Oslofjord, and has 13,409 inhabitants. History Drøbak and Frogn was established as a parish on its own through a royal decree on 8 September 1823. It had been a part of Ås parish. Drøbak was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). It was merged with Frogn on 1 January 1962. Traditionally, Drøbak was the winter harbour of Norway's capital, Oslo, since in severe winters the fjord will freeze from outside Drøbak all the way up to Oslo. It had city status between 1842 and 1962, upon which point the municipality was merged into the rural municipality Frogn and lost its city status. Furuset IF
Furuset Ishockey is an Oslo-based ice hockey club, and a part of the Furuset IF multi-sports club. They play their home games in Furuset Forum. Their team colours are blue and white. History Through different eras Furuset have made their name as one of the greatest hockey clubs in Norway Being one of the founder members of the Norwegian Ice hockey association, they had a head start on many opponents. In December 2008 the club announced that it was on the verge of bankruptcy and that it had informed all players that they were not longer contractually obliged to remain in the club and that the issuance of wages was in jeopardy. Furuset won their first of seven Norwegian Championships in 1949 to start off the first golden era in club history. Led on by the legendary Leif Solheim they went on to claim a further three championships during the fifties. Norway Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Norway men's national ice hockey team is the national ice hockey team from Norway that participates at the IIHF World Championships. The team is governed by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association and is coached by Petter Thoresen. History The Norwegian Ice Hockey Association (NIHA) was founded in 1934 and, adopting the international rules and regulations of ice hockey, became a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation in 1935. Poor finances delayed the formation of a national team until 1937, and continued to hamper its development in the years prior to World War II. After missing out on the 1935 World Championships and 1936 Winter Olympics, the NIHF managed to raise enough funds to send a team to London for the 1937 World Championships.
