Suze DeMarchi
Suze DeMarchi (born 14 February 1964) is an Australian singer-songwriter, best known for fronting the band Baby Animals (1989–1996, 2007–present). Early life DeMarchi was born in Perth, Western Australia to Walter and Shirley DeMarchi and has three older siblings; her sister Denise is also a singer. DeMarchi began her singing career in the early 1980s when she was 17, playing in local band Photoplay. Career Early years and Baby Animals In 1985, she moved to London, England where she was signed to EMI and had a fairly successful solo career in pop music, where she released a number of singles: "Young Hearts", "Big Wednesday" and "Dry Your Eyes". Disheartened by the record company's attempt to slide her into a pop career, along with missing working with a band, she returned to Australia in mid-1989, where she and fellow Perth musicians Frank Celenza, Eddie Parise and Dave Leslie formed the band Baby Animals. ''Home'' is the second studio album by Suze DeMarchi, lead singer of Australian band the Baby Animals, released in July 2015. The album features 11 cover songs that all centre around the theme of home. Upon release DeMarchi said “I’ve always been drawn to stories about Home, and love many songs about Home that resonate with me now as much as they did during the years I was away. I find myself humming them daily. Jon Stevens (born 8 October 1961) is a New Zealand singer, best known for his work with Noiseworks and ''Jesus Christ Superstar''. Extreme (band)
Extreme is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1985, that reached the height of their popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with original lineup Gary Cherone (lead vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitars and keyboards), Paul Geary (drums and percussion), and Pat Badger (bass guitar). With the exclusion of Geary, the lineup has remained unchanged. Their current drummer is Kevin Figueiredo. "Glycerine" is a song by English band Bush. It was released on 14 November 1995 as the fourth single from their debut album, ''Sixteen Stone''. Composition Gavin Rossdale wrote the song about his then-girlfriend, Suze DeMarchi as stated in an interview with Howard Stern. He wrote it in his London flat, feeling that there was an ancient, mystical element to the song as it was coming together. He told ''Entertainment Weekly'' in 2017 that "I was like a conduit. Something about it was bigger than anything we were doing." The song is in the key of F major. The chord progression is F maj – C maj – D min – B maj throughout the verse with various ornamental embellishments diatonic to the key of F major, including the bridge which cycles between the I (F major), V (C major), IV (B major), and V chord in F Major. "Comedown" is a song by British rock band Bush, released on 26 September 1995 as the third single from their debut album, ''Sixteen Stone''. Composition Gavin Rossdale wrote the song about an ex-girlfriend, stating, "It was written in the context of half regret, half celebration and just being objective about the situation of coming down from that high and dealing with those intense emotions." In 2017 he added: Drummer Robin Goodridge told music publication ''Modern Drummer'' that the bass line and drum grooves in "Comedown" were borrowed from a song by English band Massive Attack. Of the 12 songs featured on ''Sixteen Stone'', "Comedown" was the first to be written, and remains unchanged lyrically from its original form. Bush are an English rock band formed in London, England in 1992. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Gavin Rossdale, lead guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz, and drummer Nik Hughes. In 1994, Bush found immediate success outside the UK with the release of their debut album, ''Sixteen Stone'', which is certified six times multi-platinum by the RIAA. Gavin McGregor Rossdale (born 30 October 1965) is an English guitarist and actor, best known as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the rock band Bush. He helped form Bush in 1992; on the band's separation in 2002, he became the lead singer and guitarist for Institute and later began a solo career. He resumed his role in Bush when the band reunited in 2010. In 2013, he received the British Academy's Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement. The Western Australian Music Industry Awards (commonly known as WAMis) are annual awards presented to the local contemporary music industry, put on by the Western Australian Music Industry Association Inc (WAM).
