Suwon KEPCO Vixtorm
Suwon Korea Electric Power Corporation Vixtorm ( ko, 수원 한국전력 빅스톰) is a South Korean volleyball team. The team was founded in 1945 and became fully professional in 2008. They are based in Suwon and are members of the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO). Their home arena is Suwon Gymnasium in Suwon. Suwon Gymnasium is an indoor sporting arena located in Suwon, South Korea. The arena has a capacity for 5,145 spectators and was built in 1984 to host handball events at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Conscription In South Korea
Conscription in South Korea has existed since 1957 and requires male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 to perform compulsory military service. Women are not required to perform military service, but they may voluntarily join the military. Establishment The basis for military conscription in South Korea is the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, which was promulgated on 17 July 1948. The constitution states in Article 39, "All citizens shall have the duty of national defense under the conditions as prescribed by Act." In addition, the conscription is defined and acted by the "Military Service Act" (병역법). Shin Yung-suk
Shin Yung-Suk (Hangul: 신영석; born ) is a South Korean male volleyball player. He was part of the South Korea men's national volleyball team at the 2014 FIVB World Championship in Poland. He currently plays for the Suwon KEPCO Vixtorm. Career Clubs Shin was selected with the second overall pick in the first round by the Woori Capital Dream Six in the 2008 V-League Draft behind Moon Sung-min. Shin subsequently became a starting middle blocker for the team in his rookie season. Shin led the V-League in blocks per set in three consecutive seasons (2010–11, 2011–12 and 2012–13) before he was traded to the Hyundai Capital Skywalkers in 2014. In the 2016–17 season, Shin won his first championship, leading the Skywalkers to their third V-League title. He was named Best Middle Blocker of the season as well. Hwang Dong-il (Hangul: 황동일; born ) is a South Korean male volleyball player. On club level he plays for the Daejeon Samsung Fire Bluefangs. Career Hwang first garnered attention in 2004 when he won the gold medal at the Asian Junior Volleyball Championship as part of the South Korean junior national team. While attending Kyonggi University in 2005, Hwang was called-up to the South Korean U21 national team for the 2005 Junior World Volleyball Championship where his team finished sixth. As a sophomore at Kyonggi University in June 2006, Hwang got called up to the South Korean senior national team and debuted with the national team at the 2006 Asia Challenge Cup, which South Korea won. Hwang was selected fourth overall by the Woori Capital Dream Six in the 2008 V-League Draft and traded to the LIG Greaters in ten days.
