Suwat Woradilok
Suwat Woradilok ( th, สุวัฒน์ วรดิลก, July 14, 1923 in Bangkok – April 15, 2007, Amphoe Si Racha, Chonburi Province) was a Thai writer. He produced a variety of works, including short stories, novels, plays, scripts for television dramas, radio dramas and screenplays. He had several pen names, including S. Voradilok, Phrai Visanu and Rapheeporn.National Artist Suwat dies The Nation, retrieved 2007-05-17. He was named a Thailand National Artist for literature in 1991. His well-known books include ''Rajinee Boad'' (''Blind Queen''). The National Artist ( th, ศิลปินแห่งชาติ, , ) is a title given annually by the Office of the National Culture Commission of Thailand, recognizing notable Thai artists in the area of intangible cultural heritage such as literature, fine arts, visual arts, applied arts (architecture, design) and performing arts (Thai dance, international dance, puppetry, shadow play, Thai music, international music, drama and film). Since 1985, the honors have been presented on 24 February, "National Artist Day", in Thailand. The date was chosen because it is the birthdate of Buddha Loetla Nabhalai, or King Rama II, who was an artist himself.
