Sutton Forest Parish, Camden
The Parish of Sutton Forest is a parish of the County of Camden in the Southern Highlands region of New South Wales. It includes the land to the south and south-west of the small village centre presently known as Sutton Forest. The northern boundary of the parish is the Illawarra Highway and part of Canyonleigh Road. Part of Paddys River is the south-western boundary. The Southern Highlands railway line passes through the parish and is near the boundary in the east. The Hume Highway passes through a small part of the parish in the north-west. Camden County, New South Wales
Camden County was one of the original Nineteen Counties in New South Wales and is now one of the 141 Cadastral divisions of New South Wales. It included the coastal area near Wollongong south to the Shoalhaven River, and also inland encompassing Berrima and Picton. Its western boundary was the Wollondilly River. The first settlement in the area was Camden Park, established by John Macarthur in 1806, just across the Nepean River from Cumberland County. It was the first land across the Nepean to be settled. Camden is a present-day suburb of Sydney in the same area, although parts of it are in Cumberland. Camden County is named in honour of John Pratt, 1st Marquess Camden (1759–1840). Hume Highway
Hume Highway, inclusive of the sections now known as Hume Freeway and Hume Motorway, is one of Australia's major inter-city national highways, running for between Melbourne in the southwest and Sydney in the northeast. Upgrading of the route from Sydney's outskirts to Melbourne's outskirts to dual carriageway was completed on 7 August 2013. Illawarra Highway
Illawarra Highway is a short state highway in New South Wales, Australia. It connects Wollongong to the Southern Highlands and links Princes Highway and Hume Highway. It is named after the geographical area it crosses, the Illawarra region. Route Typical scenery is beautiful as it crosses the Macquarie Valley (Shellharbour) and the spectacular Macquarie Pass, with many hairpin bends and steep gradients, unsuitable for large and articulated vehicles. Trucks are instead advised to use the Mount Ousley Road (route B88), also known as Picton Road. The pass has one of the southernmost stands of Australia's sub tropical rainforest. Sutton Forest, New South Wales
Sutton Forest is a small village in the Southern Highlands, New South Wales, Australia in Wingecarribee Shire. It is located 5 km southwest of Moss Vale on the Illawarra Highway. Sutton Forest was originally granted, then owned by Navy Chief officer, Captain John Nicholson who recently immigrated from Scotland to Australia. This privately owned estate was originally 700 acres, this is where John Nicholson lived and died. Sutton Forest is located in an agrarian setting and is surrounded by farms, vineyards and is home to manor homes and estates. It is in one of the oldest areas settled by Europeans in Australia after Sydney and is somewhat reminiscent of an English village due to the temperate Southern Highlands climate and high rainfall. Bundanoon is a town in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, in Wingecarribee Shire, on Gandangarra and Dharawal Country (where these two countries meet). It is an Aboriginal name meaning "place of deep gullies" and was formerly known as ''Jordan's Crossing''. Bundanoon is colloquially known as ''Bundy/Bundi''.
