Sutphen is an unincorporated community in Dickinson County, Kansas, United States. It is located north of the intersection of 3100 Ave and Paint Rd. History Sutphen is named after the town of Zutphen in the Netherlands. Sutphen had a post office from 1879 until 1905, but the post office was given the name Sutphen's Mill until 1894. Dickinson County (county code DK) is a county in Central Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 18,402. Its county seat and most populous city is Abilene. Zutphen
Zutphen () is a city and municipality located in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It lies some 30 km northeast of Arnhem, on the eastern bank of the river Ijssel at the point where it is joined by the Berkel. First mentioned in the 11th century, the place-name appears to mean "south fen" ( in modern Dutch).
