Henry Suter (born Hans Heinrich Suter, 9 March 1841 – 31 July 1918) was a Swiss-born New Zealand zoologist, naturalist, palaeontologist, and malacologist. Biography Henry Suter was born on 9 March 1841 in Riesbach, Zurich, Switzerland, and was the son of a prosperous silk-manufacturer of Zurich. He was educated at the local school and university, being trained as an analytical chemist. Suter joined his father's business, and for some years he engaged in various commercial pursuits. From his boyhood, Henry Suter was deeply interested in natural history. He enjoyed the friendship and help of such men as Dr. Auguste Forel, Professor Paul Godet, the brothers de Saussure (linguist Ferdinand de Saussure, Sinolog and astronomer Léopold de Saussure and René de Saussure Esperantist and scientist), Escher von der Linth, and especially the well-known conchologist, Dr. Albert Mousson. William Suter
William Kent Suter (born August 24, 1937) is an American jurist who served as the 19th Clerk of the Supreme Court of the United States, a position he held for twenty-two years. Prior to this, he was a major general in the United States Army; at the time of his retirement in 1991, he had served for over a year as the acting Judge Advocate General. Early life and education Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, Suter was raised in Millersburg, Kentucky, where he attended the Millersburg Military Institute from grades 1 to 12. A talented basketball player, he received a scholarship to attend Trinity University in San Antonio, eventually obtaining a B.A. degree from there in 1959. Deciding to pursue a J.D. degree, Suter took advantage of an academic scholarship from the Tulane University School of Law, graduating in 1962. Steve Suter (born June 26, 1982) is an American former football player. He played as wide receiver and return specialist for the Maryland Terrapins and also briefly played Canadian football for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He gained fame for his explosive returning ability and elusiveness. Despite Suter's career being plagued and finally cut short by injuries, he set multiple NCAA, conference, and school records. Early years Steve Suter was born in Manchester, Maryland, the son of George and Lynn Suter. He attended North Carroll High School in Hampstead, Maryland, where he rushed for over 4,000 career yards. Ryan Suter (born January 21, 1985) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played for the Nashville Predators and Minnesota Wild. Suter's father, Bob Suter, was a member of the historic gold medal-winning 1980 United States Olympic hockey team that defeated the Soviet Union in the famous "Miracle on Ice" game. Martin Suter (born 29 February 1948 in Zürich) is a Swiss author. He became known for his weekly column ''Business Class'' in the Weltwoche newspaper (1992–2004), now appearing in the Tages-Anzeiger, and another column appearing in " NZZ Folio". The columns have been published as nine books. Suter has published fourteen novels, written four stage plays, and seven screenplays, for which he received various awards. He is married and lives in Spain and Guatemala. Suter worked previously as a copywriter and creative director in advertising before he decided to fully concentrate on his writing career in 1991. Johann Rudolf Suter
Johann Rudolf Suter (29 March 1766, Zofingen – 24 February 1827, Bern) was a Swiss physician, botanist and philologist. Life He studied natural history at the University of Göttingen, obtaining his PhD in 1787. From 1791 to 1793, he studied medicine at University of Mainz, Mainz, and after receiving his medical doctorate at Göttingen (1794), he became a medical practitioner in his hometown of Zofingen. From 1798 to 1801, he was a member of the council for the Helvetian Republic, and afterwards was a practicing physician and private scientist in Bern (1801–1804) and Zofingen (1811–1820). In 1820 he was appointed a professor of philosophy and ancient Greek, Greek at the University of Bern, Academy of Bern. He was the author of the two-volume ''Flora Helvetica'' (1802). The plant genus ''Sutera (plant), Sutera'' (family Scrophulariaceae) was named in his honor by German botanist Albrecht Wilhelm Roth (1807).

Keith Douglas Suter (born 1948) is an Australian consultant on strategic planning and a futurist. Suter has achieved three doctorates. The first of these was about the international law of guerrilla warfare (University of Sydney), and the second about the social and economic consequences of the arms race (Deakin University) and a third doctorate on scenario planning (Sydney University). He was awarded the Australian Government's Peace Medal in 1986: The International Year of Peace and was Rostrum's "Communicator of the Year" in 1995.
