Sutagao People
The Sutagao are the Chibcha-speaking indigenous people from the region of Fusagasugá, Bogotá savanna, Cundinamarca, Colombia. Knowledge about the Sutagao has been provided by scholar Lucas Fernández de Piedrahita. Etymology The name Sutagao is derived from the Chibcha words ''Su(t)á''; "Sun" and ''gao''; "son"; "Sons of the Sun". Municipalities belonging to Sutagao territories The Sutagao was a relatively small indigenous group that lived between the Sumapaz Páramo and the Pasca River. History Before the Spanish conquest, the Sutagao were in conflict with the Muisca to the northeast. ''Zipa'' Saguamanchica conquered the Sutagao around 1470 when the ''cacique'' of the Sutagao lost the Battle of Pasca. Conquistador Hernán Pérez de Quesada, brother of Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada submitted the Sutagao to the new rule of the New Kingdom of Granada. Fusagasugá
Fusagasugá (; ) or Fusa is a town and municipality in the Departments of Colombia, department of Cundinamarca Department, Cundinamarca, in central Colombia. It is located in the warm valley between the rivers Cuja River, Cuja and Panches, a central region of the Andes Mountains in South America. The municipality has an estimated population of 134,523 as of 2015. The urban region has 108,157 inhabitants. The municipality itself covers an area of . It was founded in 1592 by Spanish priests. Rudy Distrito (born May 17, 1958 in Bacolod), is a retired Filipino professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association. Sumapaz
Sumapaz is the 20th locality of Bogotá, capital of Colombia. It is the largest of Bogotá's 20 localities, starting in the north at the edge of the urban frontier with Usme and stretching to the south at the border of Cundinamarca with the departments of Meta and Huila. It is completely rural, with no city services. History The Sumapaz Páramo, covering most of the locality, was a sacred site for the indigenous Muisca in pre-Columbian times. In the 16th century, it was discovered by conquistadors led by Nicolaus Federmann in their quest for ''El Dorado''. San Bernardo () is a municipality and town of Colombia in the department of Cundinamarca. It is 99 km from Bogotá. It is characterized as an agricultural pantry area due to the high fertility of the land and variety of climates. San Bernardo's main products are blackberry and pea, renowned for its excellent quality.
