Susannah Frankel
Susannah Frankel is a British fashion journalist and writer who, since the 1980s, has worked with a number of newspapers and publications. She was the leading journalist chosen by the Fashion Museum, Bath, to choose the defining Dress of the Year of 1999. Since 2001, she has also written and co-written a number of books on fashion designers. Career Frankel studied English at Goldsmiths, University of London, and was one of the Blitz Kids alongside Leigh Bowery. She then joined an art and architecture publishers, Academy Editions, where she was assistant to the editorial director. In the late 1980s she became deputy editor of ''BLITZ'' and stayed there until its forced closure in 1991. From 1996 to 1999, Frankel was fashion editor for ''The Guardian'', and then moved to the same role at ''The Independent'', where she worked until 2012 when she became fashion director for the UK edition of ''Grazia''. Fashion Museum, Bath
The Fashion Museum (known before 2007 as the Museum of Costume) is housed in the Assembly Rooms in Bath, Somerset, England. The collection was started by Doris Langley Moore, who gave her collection of costumes to the city of Bath in 1963. The museum focuses on fashionable dress for men, women and children from the late 16th century to the present day and has more than 100,000 objects. The earliest pieces are embroidered shirts and gloves from about 1600. The Museum receives about 100,000 visitors annually. Dress of the Year Every year from its creation in 1963, an independent fashion expert has been asked to select a dress for entry into this part of the collection. Baron Dries Van Noten (born 12 May 1958 in Antwerp) is a Belgian fashion designer and an eponymous fashion brand, which he co-founded with CEO and business partner Christine Mathys. Early life and education Van Noten was born into a family of garment makers and traders: his father owned a menswear shop and his grandfather was a tailor. Savage Beauty (exhibition)
''Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty'' was an art exhibition held in 2011 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art featuring clothing created by British fashion designer Alexander McQueen, as well as accessories created for his runway shows. The exhibit was extremely popular in New York City and resulted in what was then record attendance for the museum. The curators were Andrew Bolton and Harold Koda. The show opened on May 4, a little more than one year after McQueen's death, and closed on August 7. ''Savage Beauty'' was shown again at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London from March 14, 2015 to August 2, 2015, but with additional items of exhibits.
