Ho Meng Hua (1 January 1923 - 19 May 2009) was a Chinese film director from Shanghai, working in the Cinema of Hong Kong and the Cinema of Taiwan. Early life In 1923, Ho was born in Guangdong province, China. Ho grew up in Shanghai, China. Education Ho graduated from Shanghai Drama Institute. Career In 1955, Ho joined the Shaw Brothers studio. In 1958, Ho's directorial debut was An Appointment After Dark. Sir Run Run Shaw (19 November 1907 – 7 January 2014), also known as Shao Yifu and Siu Yat-fu, was a Hong Kong entertainment mogul and philanthropist. He was one of the most influential figures in the Asian entertainment industry. Shaw Brothers (HK) Ltd. () was the largest film production company in Hong Kong, and operated from 1925 to 2011. In 1925, three Shaw brothers— Runje, Runme, and Runde—founded Tianyi Film Company (also called "Unique") in Shanghai, and established a film distribution base in Singapore, where Runme and their youngest brother, Run Run Shaw, managed the precursor to the parent company, Shaw Organisation. Kwan Shan (April 20, 1933 – October 1, 2012) was a Hong Kong film actor. Kwan appeared as a romantic lead actor in Mandarin-language films created in Hong Kong, especially during the 1960s. His roles included several Shaw Brothers Studio productions. Early life Kwan was born on April 20, 1933 in Shenyang, Liaoning province, China, and later moved to Hong Kong. He was an ethnic Manchu who traced his heritage to the Guwalgiya clan. Personal life Kwan's daughter is Rosamund Kwan, an actress. Kwan died of lung cancer on October 1, 2012, at the age of 79. His funeral was held at the Hong Kong Funeral Home.
