Susan Wismer
Susan M. Wismer (born December 13, 1955) is an American politician and a former Democratic member of the South Dakota House of Representatives who represented District 1. Wismer was the Democratic nominee in the 2014 South Dakota gubernatorial election. Biography Susan M. (Jones) Wismer was born in Britton, South Dakota to Maurice and Dorthy Jones. She's the oldest of six siblings and grew up on the family farm in northeast South Dakota. She attended Britton Elementary and High schools (now Britton-Hecla) and graduated with a degree in English from Augustana College in 1978. After college she taught high school English for a year in Iowa. In 1979, Susan married Mark Wismer, also of Britton. She and Mark moved to Washington for his job, and she studied and became a certified public accountant. Britton is a city in and the county seat of Marshall County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 1,215 at the 2020 census. A weekly newspaper, the ''Britton Journal,'' is published in Britton. History Britton was founded in 1884 as a stop on the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad. Dennis Feickert (born June 19, 1948) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the South Dakota House of Representatives representing District 1 since January 11, 2013. Fieckert served consecutively from January 2009 until January 11, 2013 in the District 3 seat. Fieckert was a county commissioner for Brown County from 1987 until 2009. Jason Elliott Frerichs (born November 24, 1984) is a former state senator and state representative from South Dakota. Early life and education Frerichs graduated from South Dakota State University in 2007, earning a B.S. in Agriculture Education. He is the president of the Roberts County Farmers Union. He lives in Wilmot, South Dakota. Frerichs owns and works on a farm with his father and brothers, and also manages 150 cows. Billie Harmon Sutton (born March 16, 1984) is an American former professional bronc rider and politician. He was a member of the South Dakota Senate from 2011 to 2019, served as Minority Leader, and was the 2018 Democratic nominee for Governor of South Dakota, which he narrowly lost to Republican nominee Kristi Noem in the general election.
