Susan McCann
Susan McCann (born 26 February 1949) is an Irish-born country and Irish singer. She had a 1977 hit "Big Tom is Still the King" which become a Number 1 in the Irish pop charts. Today, Mccann is affectionately known as 'Irelands First Lady Of Country Music'. About McCann has had enduring international popularity; she has recorded more than 650 songs across her career and toured around the world and performed at numerous prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and Dollywood. McCann has had recording deals in South Africa and toured Russia, has been recording of over 40 years, and has sung for former US President George H. W. Bush and his son George W. Bush. Her 1977 hit "Big Tom is Still the King" become a List of number-one singles of 1977 (Ireland), number 1 hit on the Irish pop charts. Forkhill
Forkhill or Forkill ( , ; ) is a small village and civil parish in south County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It is within the Ring of Gullion and in the 2011 Census it had a recorded population of 498. It lies within the former barony of Orior Upper. Its name, deriving from the Irish word ''foirceal'' may refer to the village's position on flat land between the large hills of Tievecrom (to the east) and Croslieve (to the west). History The land in the parish was awarded by Elizabeth I to Capt. Thomas Chatterton and by James II to Lord Audley on condition of English settlement, but by 1659 it was still almost entirely occupied by native Irish people. Big Tom
Tom McBride (18 September 1936 – 17 April 2018), known as Big Tom, was an Irish country, traditional and easy listening singer, as well as a guitarist, and saxophone player. With a career spanning over six decades, he started his career in 1966 as the frontman of the Irish showband Big Tom and The Mainliners. Career On 1 February 2008, Big Tom began a 12-date tour of Ireland after doctors gave him the all clear. On 25 May, Big Tom performed for the closure night of the Galtymore dance hall in Cricklewood, London. On 27 July, Big Tom was the headline act at London's Irish Festival. On 23 November, Big Tom headlined the Claremorris Dance Festival weekend. In July 2009, K-MAC Records announced more dates in Ireland for Big Tom and the Mainliners which commenced in August.
