Susan Goforth
Susan Goforth is an American actress and producer. Her work includes stage roles in ''Guys and Dolls'', '' Me and My Girl'', ''Singin' in the Rain'', ''A Chorus Line'' and ''Follies''. In 1999, she and her colleague Timothy Hines formed Pendragon Pictures, based in Seattle, Washington. Two years later, the company proposed to make a version of ''The War of the Worlds'' with a budget of $42 million, anchored through venture capital. The two were in good shape on the film until the events of September 11 caused the film to shut down production. In the meantime, the two filmed ''Chrome'' in which Goforth took a supporting role. Later in 2005, the two released a low-budget version of '' H. G. Wells' The War of the Worlds'' in which Gofoth starred. Guys And Dolls (musical)
''Guys and Dolls'' is a musical with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. It is based on "The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown" (1933) and "Blood Pressure", which are two short stories by Damon Runyon, and also borrows characters and plot elements from other Runyon stories, such as "Pick the Winner". The show premiered on Broadway in 1950, where it ran for 1,200 performances and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical has had several Broadway and London revivals, as well as a 1955 film adaptation starring Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine. ''10 days in a Madhouse'' is a 2015 American biographical film about undercover journalist Nellie Bly, a reporter for Joseph Pulitzer's ''New York World'' who had herself committed to the Women's Lunatic Asylum on Blackwell's Island to write an exposé on abuses in the institution. The production was written and directed by Timothy Hines with consultation from one of Bly's modern biographers, Brooke Kroeger. The film draws from Bly's book, ''Ten Days in a Mad-House'', which led to significant reforms in the treatment of mental health patients. The cast includes Caroline Barry, Christopher Lambert, Kelly Le Brock, Julia Chantrey and Alexandra Callas. Elizabeth Cochran Seaman (born Elizabeth Jane Cochran; May 5, 1864 – January 27, 1922), better known by her pen name Nellie Bly, was an American journalist, industrialist, inventor, and charity worker who was widely known for her record-breaking circumnavigation, trip around the world in 72 days, in emulation of Jules Verne's fictional character Phileas Fogg, and an Exposé (journalism), exposé in which she worked undercover to report on a mental institution from within.
