Fedchenko Glacier
The Fedchenko Glacier (russian: Ледник Федченко; tg, Пиряхи Федченко) is a large glacier in the Yazgulem Range, Pamir Mountains, of north-central Gorno-Badakhshan province, Tajikistan. The glacier is long and narrow, currently extending for and covering over . It is the longest glacier in the world outside of the polar regions.In the Karakoram Mountains, the Siachen Glacier is 76 km long, the Biafo Glacier is 67 km long, and the Baltoro is 63 km long. It is formed at the confluence of the rivers Seldara (draining the Fedchenko Glacier) and Sauksay (draining the Saukdara Glaciers), near Altyn Mazar. The north side of its valley is the Trans-Alay Range and the south side is formed by the Peter I Range and the Academy of Sciences Range. It joins the Kyzyl-Suu (which drains the Alay Valley) to form the Surkhob or Vakhsh. At Altyn Mazar there is a pass leading north to Daroot-Korgon in the Alay Valley.

The Tajik Aluminium Company ( tg, Ширкати Алюминийи Тоҷик; russian: Таджикская алюминиевая компания), abbreviated as TALCO ( Tajik/Russian: ТАЛКО) headquartered in Tursunzoda, Tajikistan, runs the largest aluminium manufacturing plant in Central Asia, and is Tajikistan's chief industrial asset. The President of Tajikistan, Emomalii Rahmon, personally oversees TALCO and according to ''The Economist'', "Each year, TALCO produces hundreds of millions of dollars in profits that are routed to a shell company in the British Virgin Islands". According to a leaked cable written by the US ambassador in Tajikistan, this shell company is controlled by Emomali Rahmon. Tajikistan has no native aluminium ore, so the raw material for the plant must be imported. The Golovnaya Dam is an earth-fill embankment dam on the Vakhsh River just east of Sarband in Khatlon Province, Tajikistan. Sangtuda 1 Dam
Sangtuda 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant (russian: Сангтудинская ГЭС-1;  tg, Нерӯгоҳи барқи обии Сангтӯда-1) is a hydroelectric power plant, located on the Vakhsh River in Tajikistan. Construction commenced during the Soviet period in the 1980s, but halted in the beginning of the 1990s due to lack of financing when the station was about 20% complete.
