Suriname Men United
Suriname Men United (SMU) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) established under national Surinamese law with the overall objective to improve the well-being of men who have sex with men (MSM) in Suriname. To realize its goal, SMU carries out a variety of activities in the areas of research, prevention, education, psychosocial care, and human rights advocacy. To date, Suriname Men United is the largest MSM organization in Suriname. It serves the interests of the Surinamese MSM community at national, regional and international levels. History On the first of November 2005, the NGO Suriname Men United was founded and it was launched on the first of December 2006, World AIDS Day. Non-governmental Organization

''Gay'' is a term that primarily refers to a homosexual person or the trait of being homosexual. The term originally meant 'carefree', 'cheerful', or 'bright and showy'.
