Surendra Prasad Singh was a Nepalese judge who served as 9th Chief Justice of Nepal, in office from 26 September 1995 to 14 February 1997. He was appointed by the then-king of Nepal, Birendra. Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev ( ne, श्री ५ महाराजाधिराज वीरेन्द्र वीर विक्रम शाह देव ) (28 December 1945 – 1 June 2001) was the tenth Shah Ruler and the King of Nepal from 1972 until his assassination in 2001. He was the eldest son of King Mahendra. Early life and education Birendra was born at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace in Kathmandu as the eldest son of the then Crown Prince Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev and his first wife, Crown Princess Indra Rajya Lakshmi Devi. Birendra spent eight years studying at St Joseph's School, a Jesuit school in Darjeeling, with his brother Gyanendra. Bishwonath Upadhyaya ( ne, विश्वनाथ उपाध्याय) (13 October 1930 – 30 January 2014) was the Chief Justice of Nepal from 1991 to 1995. He had previously served as chairman of the 1990 constitution drafting committee. Early life He was born in 1930 in Malangwa Sarlahi.
