Surasak BTS Station
Surasak station ( th, สถานีสุรศักดิ์) is a BTS skytrain station, on the Silom Line in Bang Rak and Sathon districts, Bangkok, Thailand. The station is located on Sathon Road to the east of Sathon-Surasak intersection. The surrounding area along Sathon Road is primarily a business zone with many office towers and embassies. Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom is a 5-mins walk, Bangkok Christian College and Saint Louis Churchpatrick are within walking distance to the east of the station. Station layout Incident On the evening of 20 August 2022, a person slipped and fell backwards on the ascending escalator at Exit 3 causing commuters behind to tumble on top of each other, resulting in 28 injuries. The event occurred as concert-goers were returning home under heavy rain, from a concert held at the nearby Bangkok Christian College in commemoration of the school's 170th year. BTS (), also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band formed in 2010 and debuting in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. The septet—consisting of members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—co-writes and co-produces the majority of their material. Sathon District
Sathon or Sathorn ( th, สาทร, ) is one of the 50 districts (''khet'') of Bangkok, Thailand. The district is bounded by six other districts (from north clockwise): Bang Rak, Pathum Wan, Khlong Toei, Yan Nawa, Bang Kho Laem, and Khlong San (across the Chao Phraya River). History Sathon district was once part of Yan Nawa. Due to its large area and population, first a branch district office of Yan Nawa was set up on 9 March 1989 to serve the people in three ''khwaeng'' of Yan Nawa. And then on 9 November 1989, the Sathon district was established inheriting the area once served by the branch office. The district is named after Sathon Road and Khlong Sathon. Sathon Road ( th, ถนนสาทร, , ; also ''Sathorn'' or ''Satorn'') is a major road that passes through the districts of Bang Rak and Sathon in central Bangkok, Thailand.
