Grand Central Records
Grand Central Records was an independent record label based in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, England. It was started in 1995 by DJ Mark Rae (who, along with Steve Christian makes up the duo Rae & Christian). Rae started out working as manager of the Fat City Records' store (which is now also a record label). The two labels maintained a close relationship, co-hosting club nights including ''Friends and Family''. Grand Central also had a digital sub-label, GC3. As of May 2006, Grand Central Records ceased operating as a record label and the official website was closed down. The label was allegedly investigated by the MCPS with regard to unpaid royalties and the resultant bill was so large that it forced the label into liquidation. Critical reception AllMusic wrote that "it's rare that discs released by scratch or battle DJs ever hold a candle to their respective live performances, but here Fingathing definitely defy convention." ''The Guardian'' wrote that some of the songs "are lushly atmospheric, while others have the rudimentary feel and brutal minimalism of earliest hip hop." Track listing # "Intro" – 0:43 # "Check It Out" – 2:58 # "Big Monsters Crush Cities" – 5:56 # "Come On Girls" – 1:50 # "Head To Head" – 4:08 # "How To Smoke" (featuring DJ Noize) – 4:11 # "Slappy's Tune" – 2:22 # "Just Practice" (featuring Mr. Scruff) – 3:52 # "Big Kid" – 2:40 # "Remember This?" – 0:48 # "You Fly Me" ...

AllMusic
AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. In the early 1990s, as CDs replaced LPs as the dominant format for recorded music, Erlewine purchased what he thought was a CD of early recordings by Little Richard. After buying it he discovered it was a "flaccid latter-day rehash". Frustrated with the labeling, he researched using metadata to create a music guide. In 1990, in Big Rapids, Michigan, he founded ''All Music Guide' ...
