Superfights
''Superfights'' is a 1995 martial arts film directed and choreographed by Tony Leung Siu-Hung. The film stars newcomer Brandon Gaines, Chinese actress Yu Feihong, and martial artists Keith Vitali, Chuck Jeffreys, Cliff Lenderman, and Brian Ruth amongst others. The film was the first American production by Hong Kong-based Seasonal Film Corporation since their 1991 film American Shaolin. Plot Jack Cody is an avid fan of the Superfights, a pay-per-view event that meshes martial arts and professional wrestling. During an event, Jack earns the favor of No Mercy Budokai, who is nearly blindsided with a steel chair by the heel known as The Enforcer. Jack blocks the chair shot and Budokai thanks him before winning his match against the Enforcer. Jack works in a local warehouse, where he often spends time practicing his martial arts, drawing ridicule from his supervisor. Rob Van Dam
Robert Alexander Szatkowski (born December 18, 1970) is an American professional wrestler and actor better known by his ring name Rob Van Dam (frequently abbreviated to RVD). He is best known for his tenures in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA)/Impact Wrestling. Keith Vitali is an American Karate master, former number one ranked full-contact fight champion, martial artist, actor, producer, author and child activist, best known for films such as Revenge of the Ninja, Wheels on Meals, No Retreat, No Surrender 3: Blood Brothers, and American Kickboxer. His introduction into martial arts came in 1975 at the University of South Carolina, where he was awarded his first black belt after two years. Over the course of the next ten years, Vitali competed in a large number of martial arts tournaments, winning most of them, as well as being ranked the "#1 Karate Fighter in the USA". His number of wins landed him an honored place in ''Black Belt Magazine's'' Black Belt Hall of Fame in 1981. The magazine also named Vitali as one of the ten best fighters of all time. Seasonal Film Corporation () was an independent film company from Hong Kong, originally founded by the ex-assistant Shaw Brothers movie director Ng See-yuen in 1974.
