''Super Happy Fun Times Friends'' is the seventh studio album by Australian rock band Regurgitator, and was released in Australia on 5 August 2011. The album peaked at No. 91 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Background and release Regurgitator moved to Melbourne in 2010 and had planned on releasing individual songs on the internet as they were finished; with a number of tracks released throughout 2010. Regurgitator
Regurgitator are an Australian rock band from Brisbane, Queensland, formed in late 1993 by Quan Yeomans on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards; Ben Ely on bass guitar, keyboards and vocals; and Martin Lee on drums. Their debut studio album, ''Tu-Plang'' was released in May 1996; it was followed by ''Unit'' in November 1997 which was certified triple platinum. ''Unit'' won five categories at the ARIA Music Awards of 1998: Album of the Year, Best Alternative Album, Producer of the Year (for Magoo), Engineer of the Year (Magoo) and Best Cover Art (for The Shits). Valve Records
Valve Records is an Australian record label, releasing a wide range of alternative artists both local and international. The label was created by Paul Curtis in 1994 to support the local bands he was managing. Regurgitator, a successful band he manages, however, would not see a release on Valve until 2003–2004 after a split with Warner EastWest and the completion of the first Band in a Bubble project in Melbourne's Federation Square. Ben Ely
Benjamin Ely (born 13 September 1970) is an Australian musician and artist best known for his work with alternative rock band Regurgitator. Early life Born in Brisbane, Ely's family moved to the outer suburb of Cleveland. During his high school years he became friends with musicians members Dave Atkins and Jim Sinclair, with whom he would later form Pangaea. He met guitarist Quan Yeomans in 1993, with whom he formed Regurgitator. He claims that meeting Yeomans is the most important thing that has ever happened to him, stating that "I am a big fan of his work. I guess that helps when you play in a band with them". With regard to his musical influences, Ely has previously stated "Metallica and Black Sabbath made me who I am today". Quan Yeomans
Quan Yeomans (born 12 December 1972) is an Australian musician best known as the frontman of the band Regurgitator. Early years Yeomans was born in Sydney to a fifth-generation Australian father, Neville, and his mother Lien, a well-known Vietnamese Australian chef and author. His parents divorced during his childhood, during which he recalls listening to various Fleetwood Mac albums. At an early age Lien arranged for family friend and Channel Seven newsreader Peter Waltham to give music lessons for Quan in exchange for cooking lessons. In 1984, his family relocated to Brisbane and he attended Bardon Primary School before attending Kelvin Grove State High School until graduation in 1989. Yeomans travelled with his father in 1991 to Rio de Janeiro to the World Economic Forum, where he heard Indian scientist and author Vandana Shiva speak about the crippling, cyclic effects of debt on the Third World. ''Dirty Pop Fantasy'' is Australian alternative rock band Regurgitator's eighth studio album. The album was first streamed on 23 August 2013 on the music streaming website Deezer and officially released on 6 September 2013 on the record label Valve Records. Regurgitator toured from September to December 2013. Recording and composition The album was written and recorded in Hong Kong. Ely said, "We got this warehouse apartment in a nine-story walk-up. It was an old yoga studio so it was pretty barebones – it was like a concrete block – and we just slept on the floor. We didn’t have our gear or drum kits or anything.
