Super-bantamweight
Super bantamweight, also known as junior featherweight, is a weight class in professional boxing, contested from and up to . There were attempts by boxing promoters in the 1920s to establish this weight class, but few sanctioning organizations or state athletic commissions would recognize it. Jack Wolf won recognition as champion when he beat Joe Lynch at Madison Square Garden on September 21, 1922, but afterwards the weight division fell into disuse. The division was revived in the 1970s and the first title fight in 54 years in the division took place in 1976 when the World Boxing Council recognized Rigoberto Riasco as its champion when he defeated Waruinge Nakayama in eight rounds. The World Boxing Association crowned its first champion in 1977 when Soo Hwan Hong knocked out Hector Carasquilla in three rounds to win the inaugural WBA championship. Carl Frampton
Carl Frampton (born 21 February 1987) is a former professional boxer from Northern Ireland who competed from 2009 to 2021. He is a former two-weight world champion, having held the WBA (Unified) and IBF super-bantamweight titles between 2014 and 2016, and the WBA (Super) featherweight title from 2016 to 2017. He also held the WBO interim featherweight title in 2018. At regional level, he held the European and Commonwealth super-bantamweight titles between 2011 and 2014. Scott Quigg (born 9 October 1988) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2007 to 2020. He held the WBA super-bantamweight title from 2013 to 2016, and the British super-bantamweight title from 2011 to 2012. Personal life Quigg started his fight career as a child practising Muay Thai boxing at GFC Muay Thai in Bury. Toshiaki Nishioka
is a Japanese former professional boxer who competed from 1994 to 2012. He held the WBC super-bantamweight title from 2008 to 2012, and challenged for the WBO and ''The Ring super-bantamweight titles in his final-fight. Nishioka is known for his series of fights against Veeraphol Nakonluang-Promotion, with two of their four encounters ending in draws. Unlike many of Japan's other world champions, Nishioka willingly fought outside of his own country. Murodjon Kakharovich Akhmadaliev ( uz, Murodjon Qahhorovich Ahmadaliyev; born 2 November 1994) is an Uzbekistani professional boxer who is a unified super-bantamweight champion, having held the WBA (Super), and IBF titles since 2020. Soo Hwan Hong
Hong Soo-hwan (Hangul: 홍수환, born May 26, 1950) is a South Korean former professional boxer who competed between 1969 and 1980. He is a world champion in two weight classes, having held the WBA and ''The Ring'' bantamweight titles from 1974 to 1975 and the WBA super-bantamweight title from 1977 to 1978. Jeff Fenech
Jeff Fenech (born 28 May 1964) is an Australian former professional boxer who competed between 1984 and 2008. He won world titles in three weight divisions, having held the IBF bantamweight title from 1985 to 1987, the WBC super-bantamweight title from 1987 to 1988, the WBC featherweight title from 1988 to 1990.
