Supagroup
Supagroup is an American rock and roll band from New Orleans, Louisiana. Their current lineup includes vocalist and rhythm guitarist Chris Lee, lead guitarist Benji Lee, bassist Brian "Bruiser" Broussard, and drummer Leon Touzet. Chris Lee is married to former White Zombie bassist Sean Yseult. In early 2003, the band won the New Orleans regional poll in The 2nd Annual Independent Music Awards for their song "She's Hot (I'm On A Roll)." Background Supagroup was formed in the mid-1990s by Chinese American brothers Chris Lee and Benji Lee from Anchorage, Alaska while students at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. They have headlined with Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe, Queens of the Stone Age, Supersuckers, Fu Manchu, Drive-By Truckers and Alice Cooper, among others. In 2004, Supagroup received a standing ovation for Alice Cooper, something Cooper claimed hasn't happened since Guns N' Roses opened his shows. Drive-By Truckers are an American rock band based in Athens, Georgia. Two of five current members (Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley) are originally from The Shoals region of northern Alabama and met as roommates at the University of North Alabama. Kathryn "Trina" Shoemaker is an American mixer, record producer and sound engineer responsible for producing/engineering and/or mixing records for bands such as Queens of the Stone Age, Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Something for Kate, Nanci Griffith, Kristin Hersh, and many more. Early life and career Shoemaker was born in Joliet, Illinois, and attended Joliet Central High School. After graduating in 1983, she moved to Los Angeles and got a job working as a secretary at Capitol Records. She then briefly moved to London where she worked with artist Hugh Harris. Jack Endino
Jack Endino (born Michael M. Giacondino; 1964) is an American producer and musician based in Seattle, Washington. Long associated with Seattle label Sub Pop and the grunge movement, Endino worked on seminal albums from bands including Mudhoney, Soundgarden and Nirvana. He was also the guitarist for Seattle band Skin Yard, which was active between 1985 and 1992. Endino currently manages a studio in Seattle called Soundhouse Recording. Early career In 1985, Endino and Daniel House started the influential grunge band Skin Yard. Groupie
The term groupie is a slang word that refers to a fan of a particular musical group who follows the band around while they are on tour or who attends as many of their public appearances as possible, with the hope of meeting them. The term is usually derogatory, describing young women who follow these individuals aiming to initiate a sexual encounter with them or to offer them sex. The term is also used to describe fans of sports, and admirers of public figures in other high-profile professions. Fu Manchu (band)
Fu Manchu is an American stoner rock band, formed in Southern California in 1985, and long-associated with the Palm Desert Scene. History Fu Manchu originally formed in 1985 as a hardcore punk band called Virulence. The lineup was vocalist Ken Pucci, guitarist Scott Hill, bassist Mark Abshire, and drummer Ruben Romano. In 1987, Abshire left the band and was replaced by Greg McCaughey. They recorded their debut LP ''If This Isn't a Dream...'' in 1988, which was released on Alchemy Records (1989). In 1990, Pucci left the band and was replaced by vocalist Glenn Chivens, and they changed their name to Fu Manchu.
